  1. As of the end of Saturday's Spring Game, myself, the greatness that is BigShoop and various other members of our crew are now official, having purchased 8 season tickets for our beloved Bulls. I'm sure we'll still cause havoc in the front row of the student section because its fun and, well, because we can, but we are now also some of the newest USF season ticket holders.
  2. Game worn #47 jersey autographed by CJL Original logo helmet signed by LRS at University Mall the night we unveiled the new logo. Ticket from MCCB
  3. and have ESPNU, they are broadcasting the WVU spring game this Saturday at 4pm and the L'Ville spring game next Saturday at 7pm. A good chance to get an early glimpse at the "top dogs" in the BE.
  4. Defense......let them get prepared early to have to continue winning games for us
  5. I'd honestly be willing to live through a season of watching a redshirt freshman make some mistakes and learn and grow from them in the process (hopefully) versus watching a 5th year senior make the same mistakes he's been making the last 3 years and esentially lead us to the same record/standing.
  6. My hope is that the coaching staff wants to see how Grothe moves the offense with the "2nd string" receivers versus PJ with the "1st teamers". They have lots of practice time to build a comfort level with the receivers, so if Grothe moves his offense better than PJ moves his, I think it will stand out a lot more in the coaches eyes.
  7. Unfortunately there is no way to make a comparison between the two at this point in time. That is a situation where it is Oklahoma's own home field, which is probably painted up at all times (unless there is some type of change made.) The only time I see us ponying up the cash to paint the field would be for nationally televised games (a'la TCU a few years ago). If we see the field completely painted up at all this season it'll be for the Rutgers game. Besides, if we paint it up all nice and pretty for the spring game it'll just give us something else to complain about. ;D
  8. He can probably do both. Being a GA I'm sure he's not as entrenched in everything as a regular coach would be, plus the arena season ends in June and doesn't pick up again until February, so that would give him plenty of time to work with the team when it matters. I could be wrong, just my thoughts.
  9. Yeah, they'll host the regular Fiesta Bowl with the two BCS teams they choose, then they'll host the National Title game the following week
  10. I think it was changed this year because the NCAA bought the rights to the NIT last summer and changed the bracketing to resemble the NCAA Tournament with seeding and regions and all that. I believe that because of this the first and second round games are played at the home arena of the higher seed.
  11. http://www.bcsfootball.org/index2.cfm?page=structure Here is some more info on the 5 BCS games. From 2006 - 2009 they're going to play the 4 BSC Bowl games when they would normally be played, then rotate the National Title game (to be played on January 8th) between the 4 BCS stadiums, so each year one of the places is going to host two games in a week.
  12. 2005 Champs Sports Bowl!?!.......did I miss something
  13. and Coach Mac too, I'm sure plenty of people would find a way to throw blame his way as well I still love how we find a way to be upset about these things. We lost our best offensive player, still have question marks on much of the offensive side of the ball as well as a question mark on the defensive side of the ball (D-Line) and are coming off of a .500 season, yet we're ranked how many slots higher than last season and still find reason to complain.
  14. What a wonderful way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our beloved alma mater, change the name
  15. Sorry for the retread, it took me a while to get my post together here at work
  16. Speaks volumes........if CJL is finally saying, this why doesn't he realize that ROD SMITH NEEDS TO GO!!!!!
  17. College B'Ball - Duke College F'Ball - Notre Dame College Hockey - Boston U NFL - J-E-T-S- JETS JETS JETS NHL - 3 time Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils MLB - NY Mets NBA - Like Beastie I was a late 80's/early 90's Knicks fan, but now I could care less about the NBA
  18. Well if you listen to some people around here all those teams could have beaten us by 40 "if they wanted to" : The BE Tournament just started today and I'm already fired-up for next season. I do believe if finances allow I'm going to be in line for a couple of season tix.
  19. I think my favorite part of this season has been all of the "fans" who care so much about our team not giving the team credit for how much they have fought and competed this season, but rather using the "::insert name of opponent:: could have beaten us by ::insert margin of victory:: if they wanted to" as just another excuse to bash Coach Mac. And for everyone who wants to say that Calhoun's comments were just lipservice, just remember two things: 1. That is a man who has seen a lot more basketball and has been a lot more successful than any of us have been coaching a college program. 2. If you have watched the team this entire season, the things that he has credited the team and Coach Mac for was pretty much constant throughout the entire season.
  20. Thats 4 points higher than Matt Leinart...........would you like to play quarterback
  21. 5 of their 8 3-star recruits are from Florida.........not keeping this in-state talent will destroy us
  22. This post puts it in a nutshell. Until the attitude changes we're going to be rowing this boat in circles. The excitement should come from going and seeing OUR team and cheering OUR team on. The excuse that the opponents don't excite you is downright pathetic. Playing more regional and Florida teams is all well and good, but you have to take some things into consideration. One, OCC games are generally scheduled years in advance, so you can't just snap your fingers and schedule a game with UF, FSU, Miami, Georgia, Alabama, etc.. Two, if we do schedule those teams, you'll have to travel to be at the game, cause they're not coming here to play us (with the exception of Miami, props to them for making the series a home and home). And if opponents that don't excite people is what is keeping them away from games, what good would a move to the ACC do? After Miami, Va Tech and Boston College, who is "exciting" in that conference? The BE has Louisville, WVU and Pitt, all opponents I find just as "exciting" as any ACC school.
  23. Fire Rod Smith, Hire Anthony Severino ;D Also glad to see we will be expanding our recruiting territory
