  1. Kelly said when he got hired that he was patient. You guys just didn't realize how patient you were going to have to be.
  2. Well he and his family look like Jeff Scott people.
  3. Just saying, all of our previous success was based on the run....running QB's. Blackwell Grothe BJ Daniels Flowers
  4. I wondered the same thing to myself. I suspect with Weis Jr's offense, he needs some continuity.
  5. Will Turner is now predicting Katravis Marsh will stay. Katravis Marsh is a 6-5, 185-pound Dual-Threat Quarterback from Hialeah, FL. summary
  6. Possibly Ajou Ajou would fit that bill since he just announced his plans to transfer recently.
  7. Meanwhile, the Miami BOT says we don't need no AD. Canzano: Miami is waiting on Mario Cristobal ... but Oregon has its arms around him Ducks coach focused on Pac-12 title game... and family.
  8. Just in case you'd like an update. https://www.si.com/college/2021/12/03/miami-footballs-athletic-director-search-reportedly-a-mess
  9. As to Steve Addazio. That hire was pretty high up in the obvious dumb hire category. Maybe not as obvious as Adam Gase to the Jets or Greg Schiano to the Bucs but pretty high up there.
  10. You know....earlier this year, there was discussions of Colorado State joining the AAC in Conference Expansion. You know Michael Kelly is well connected with the ACC....so maybe USF could pull a few strings and.... I kid. I kid.
  11. Isn't Jordan Smith still on the roster? I know he moved to safety but he was recruited as a Duel Threat QB. RB Quinton Callum's son.
  12. Ex-UCF running back Otis Anderson Jr. fatally shot by father Anderson, who played at UCF from 2017 to 2020, died late Monday in Jacksonville. That's what this NY Post article states.
  13. Former Rams practice squad RB Otis Anderson Jr. shot and killed in domestic incident Former Rams practice squad RB Otis Anderson Jr. was shot and killed in a domestic incident Monday night.
  14. Don’t disagree with anything you said there. I think CJS is trying to win and develop young players without getting anyone hurt. I suspect at the outset of the season and even in the NC State game it was obvious that Timmy McClain was our best chance at winning but CJS wasn't coaching for just this season. Thus, in hindsight, it makes sense that he didn't start Timmy in the UF game. I also believe the main goal of the defense is not to get players hurt and keep the play in front of them. Maybe it's just the scheme but I tend to doubt it.
  15. Ditto. Rock bottom was earlier this year. The offense is showing life. Our defense looks like we only have 16 players and we are just trying to get through games without getting hurt.
  16. I am not saying I agree with that but it appears to be a secondary goal for some high level decision makers. Recall recently some were saying they want the next president to be exactly like Judy Genshaft. You know.....Elites.
  17. I don’t see this as a negative thread. It’s a mildly amusing concept that a program like Miami would even want to venture down a similar path that USF chose several years ago with Michael Kelly. Especially with the desire for immediate improvement in Coral Gables. I don’t know where the mention of Michael Kelly to UM even came from other than the Miami Herald just throwing it out there. Michael Kelly has broadcast his plan, mind you cryptically so people don't go nuts. He has come in and incrementally fixed what he could (improvement in olympic sports, improved football future schedules, IPF) but it seems he has been given an incredibly long leash and time horizon to do so. Maybe that is what is necessary at a place like USF. Fans are typically impatient but there are few of us left with very little influence. Kelly said at the outset back in 2018, keep calm. In other words, be patient. I imagine when he reached out to Dabo Swinney about Jeff Scott, he guaranteed 3 years with no pressure or expectations. Dabo didn’t do anything at Clemson for 3 years and I wouldn’t be shocked if Dabo said it will take at least 3 years to implement the Clemson culture. That’s the body language from Michael Kelly and Jeff Scott and company that I see. I am not even so sure the goal of the coaching staff is to win this season. It has felt like they are just trying to get through the season to get Timmy and their players more mature and get to their recruits for next year. Those of you rooting for a change at DC are likely to be highly disappointed. I don’t see any pressure on Spencer. I hope they can all pull it off. We are having to watch this long culture rebuild… so at this point, we might as well see it through. The admins seem to be determined not to go back to a Leavitt or Taggart culture so I hope it works or we will just become Rice.
