  1. He has done a lot better over the years (Christenson) but one of the things which got me to stop listening to sports talk was when Scot Brantley tried to convince the audience in 2001 that offensive coordinator Clyde Christenson was an offensive genious.
  2. He looks like he wants some unspeakable act to be performed on him. Maybe Jim turned him down and he was scorned!
  3. Probably Alabama, maybe Georgia these days. Funny, I remember when Ohio St and Michigan were 1 and 2 and going to play and a guy on here talked about how people who were fans of those 2 were "beside themselves" and lamenting how USF football could not generate such excitement. First of all, I will skip the pure folly of being "beside themselves" over a football game but will focus on how absurd to compare a 10 year old program with 2 programs which are older than dirt and have been dominating since dirt was invented.
  4. Were you able to discern what their rooting interests were? I mean, the local team is UTEP and they really have no room to criticize. Even a Skippy led team trounced them.
  5. I remember there being some talk about things I cannot prove and do not know for certain but I will state what I do know. First of all, Oregon was a legitimate favorite to win the national championship before they had injuries at QB. They were arguably much better than USF even before both teams took a dive. Also, the things which you admired Leavitt for (getting players to play above their heads through emotion) were also something you could criticize him for since his teams did fall flat at times. I think if USF had earned their way to the Sun Bowl with late wins rather than settling for this bowl, you may have seen a better effort
  6. I am not inclined to nitpick this guy since this may be the first positive thing I have heard or read that he said about USF. You take what you can get, especially in these hard times.
  7. Let's also not overlook the fact that UCF was kind of forced into building one and San Diego State was tired of playing in an outdated dilapidated venue.
  8. I noticed the "East Coast Paddle" moniker and found it is a paddleboarding company. Now, I have not done too much of that but have found it relaxing. Maybe he needs to get out with his customers more. Take some of the edge off.
  9. It says a lot about those who even come here at this point from over there. It really shows idiosyncratic behavior to also feel the need to pose as one of us.
  10. If he was truly an objective reporter, there would be no need to post things like that to a national following. Most do not even know about USF or even care. His obsession (as well as DUImig's) were why I went from thinking something bad happened to questioning what really happened.
  11. We have people on here who pretend to be Bulls fans, I wonder how many have contacted him under this false representation
  12. I would never visit a miscreant message board (would need a lot of disinfectant afterwards). Still, if I were inclined to do so, it would be odd to do so even if the situations were reversed. Think about it. They had another good season last year, get the Pee Five invite and things are looking up. Even so, arguably one of the most pathetic USF teams ever (if not in the history of college football) came within 3 yards of beating them at their place. I think I would sit this one out
  13. While I thought originally this post was a little suspect due to the fact I did not recognize the handle, I do not recall any indications of "UCF Knights" under member. Did you change that? If so, hilarious.
  14. His nose looks a little red. Probably what we would call an amateur who can easily be drunken under the table.
  15. Pretty pathetic. Living vicariously through a football team as well as feeling the need to stomp on the downtrodden. I know when USF was in the Big East, the only time I paid them any mind is when we had to play the miscreants.
  16. I am not going to argue the gist of what you are saying, just advocating the need for a power back, a guy who can get the tough yards and has a nose for the endzone or first down marker. There is a reason why to this day Voodoo 5 exists in USF football lore.

  18. Didn't our horrible team actually come within 3 yards of winning last game? Certainly not the promised blowout.
  19. Not aimed solely at Jim, just using the quote for perspective. We will never know but I wonder how much of the drop off was not just people who were mad about Leavitt being dismissed but also ones who were adamant that Leavitt was the only thing standing between USF football and greatness. I am certain many who advocated that opted to disappear once they realized their error.
  20. I think only Hamilton Burger had a worse record and kept his job.
  21. If my memory serves me, I think Jason Pierre-Paul would easily be our best JC pickup. We could use another type of player like this even if it were for only a season. The orginal point is correct, but I don't think he meant just any player(s). He was pointing out Scott needs to look anywhere he can to get quality players who might help right away.
