I bought season tickets for the first time for 2004 expecting attendance to increase. No more walking up the day of the game, ordering by ticketmaster, sneaking off during work hours to the Sun Dome to buy a ticket or (my favorite) bumming from my employer when the corporate office had extra comp tickets. 8)
Word is that LB Peterson will get the franchise tag and that they will concentrate on keeping other free agents on the defense. Would like to see T.O. go to Atlanta to team up with Vick, like the commercial.
Gruden is getting ripped by a lot of the media and locals. This is confusing to me since he won a Super Bowl with that team (They were after all 9-7 in 2001).  Just 8 years ago if I predicted we would see a championship team with the #22 offense, #27 in rushing and a defense that plays mostly zone, you would have laughed.
With the rules today which took away what the defense could do against the passing game (i.e. the effective elimination of the bump-and-run), his numbers could easily surpass Marino's or Fout's. I can't think of many team that he could not start for.
As a lifetime Niner fan I of course became a Montana fan when he joined the team in 1979. Even so, I have to agree with Smazza. If Namath doesn't sustain the knee injuries or play on some pretty bad Jets teams in the 1970's, there would be no debate IMO.
The Tuesday Morning Quarterback in the Tribune had a paragraph about Bengals' Chad Johnson (Keyshawn's cousin). It mentioned that he had taken to calling himself "7-Eleven" because he's open all the time. After getting shut down by Baltimore's Chris McAllister, Johnson said "They shut me down, there's nothing I can say. 7-Eleven got robbed".
Hint: In their only playoff game that year against the heavily favored Miami Dolphins, this team put up quite a fight, leading at one time 21-0. They eventually fell to the Dolphins 24-21.
Which playoff team in NFL history had the worst regular season W-L record as a division champion? (6 points)  EXTRA POINT: Name the year or the team's record.  (Please exclude the 1982 strike shortened season which had an expanded 16 team format).
Correct! The Chicago Cardinals hosted the 1947 NFL championship game. They defeated Philadelphia 28-21. (The extra point answer is the Houston Texans). You have scored 6 points on your first drive!
In the NFL, 31 out of the 32 teams have made the playoffs at one time or another. Which one has gone the longest without hosting a playoff game (6 points)? EXTRA POINT: What team has never been in the playoffs?
