    Vikings, especially since they had more fans in attendance than the Cards did. It got me to start rooting for the Cards out of pity.

    I saw the whole 4th quarter. The NFL Sunday Ticket is worth every penny.

    repeat. Steve Duemig said this on 620 WDAE yesterday.  He meant going into the new season.  What do you think?  Need I remind everyone this short list includes the 93&95 Cowboys, 94 Niners, 96 Packers, and 97&98 Broncos, all very good teams.

    You can like who you want, that doesn't mean that I have to understand it. King's only playoff victory featured a fumble by him which Dunn picked up and ran for a TD. Bucs won 14-13 against Wash.

    Sorry, 4 NFL teams.  A Canadian friend told me 3 CFL teams.  I'll guess 1 USFL team. Total of 8.

    In the NFL, I think he played for the Pats, Bears, Bills and Chargers.  I can't remember the CFL team, Winnipeg?

    Jerry West. I believe he is the only one to win it while playing for the team that lost.

    San Francisco. Hearst has paid him extra money for every pancake block he gets. He's been a big reason why they have been ranked towards the top of the league in rushing the last few years.

    Even though this hasn't been his best year, its nice to see a real FB who does the grunt work of blocking (very well) get the selection. His teammates gave him a lengthy standing ovation.

    If you mean as a starter I won't challenge that opinion.  Shaun King is the worst QB in the NFL.  I have never understood the infatuation Tpa fans have with this guy.  He's no McNabb or Vick!

    Too bad nobody told that to the Jolly Joker here in Tpa. Whenever people who happen to be Bucs fans complain because their children go to school in trailers, or the roads in their neighborhood flood easily or have potholes, I always say "Yeah, but we have that nice new stadium". I know USF benefits but if the stadium is truly a "community investment", I think USF should catch a break on the price to use it.

    I was born in Fla. but lived out west a # of years growing up. Monterey, Pittsburg, and Alameda, Ca. I also lived in Az and could follow the bay area teams at night esp. the Giants games on KNBR 68 (now 680). It is ironic that I grew up rooting for USF basketball (San Francisco) and ended up going to USF South Florida. Both the green and gold! My parents also lived in Dana Point for a # of years so I visted often.

    Where's Barry Bonds?  I can't remember seeing any other hitter get more respect from the opposing pitchers. (I've watched since early 70's).  Maybe Ryne Sandberg for 2B.  Thanks for the mention of Willie Mc, one of the most beloved sports figures in No.California.

    Bob Cousy-1, Bill Russel-5, Dave Cowens-1, Larry Bird-3.  Was Cousy or Pettit the first MVP (earlier question)?  I guessed Pettit.

    Must have been Milwaukee's Abdul-Jabbar. I remember he won it a few times in the early 70's.

    I agree since the NFL took all of the AFL teams in the merger. I was trying to be diplomatic towards any hardcore ABA or WHL fans out there. (Assuming any still exist).

    I like that Duncan seems to have a more complete game, he can make the intermediate shots that you need a big man to take. As a talented ballplayer and dominating presence, you have to give the nod to Shaq.  A tough choice.

    Remember when Oakland's Jose Canseco called Fenway Park a band box? The Boston fans were so offended. You would have thought that he was mocking a holy shrine.

    One could make the argument that the AFL is the league which has had the most success competing against one of the big four (NFL,MLB,NBA,NHL).
