  1. Wish I had remembered to ask this last week!
  2. The final 4 teams in the NFC playoffs were probably the ones Bucs fans have disliked the most for the last 4 years or so.  Which team did you want to see win?  Which team did you not want to see win?  People I know seem to vote yes for Pack no for Philly. The least favorable matchup would have been Rams vs. Philly.
  3. I guess he was still upset that SF had knocked them out by beating them in the last game of the year. Joe Morgan's home run gave SF a 5-4 win. Probably the most exciting game I have seen. A Giant fan's perspective of course.
  4. I was wondering what Vin Scully was like the last few years doing SF vs. LA games.  It seemed like he always went out of his way to slight the Giants and their fans, stadium etc.  I believe the worst example is after the 1982 season (LA had finished 1 game behind Atl and SF was 2 games behind) he was hawking 1983 Dodger season tickets. He opened the ad  by saying LA had fought all year against the Braves for the pennant.  All I could think was "what about the Giants?".
  5. The San Francisco 49ers went 10-6 in 1988. They defeated Cincinnati 20-16 in SB XXIII.
  6. I believe Denver's 11-5 record in 1985 is the best not to make the playoffs in a 16 game schedule.
  7. The 1967 Baltimore Colts went 11-1-2 finishing behind the LA Rams in the NFL Coastal division. The Rams also went 11-1-2 but got the nod because they beat the Colts once and tied them once. There were no wild card teams then, only division winners made the playoffs.
  8. Try again. Hint: this team started 6-5 but won their division and beat a favored Chicago Bear team in the NFC championship. They won 28-3 in 12 degree weather at Soldier Field.
  9. Correct!  They led Pittsburgh in SB XIV 19-17 in after 3 quarters but lost 31-19. Smazza also gets the extra credit because he put that the Rams finished 9-7 on another post (SB Trivia II).
  10. What is the least amount of points scored by the winning team in a playoff game?
  11. What team has the record for having the best regular season record of teams failing to qualify for the playoffs?
  12. What Super Bowl champion had the worst regular season record? Extra point for knowing the record.
  13. What Super Bowl participant had the worst regular season record? Extra point for knowing their record.
  14. Those college kicks came when college kickers were allowed to use a tee.
  15. "The point a minute team". It was really the 1901 season since the Rose Bowl was played Jan 1902.
  16. Ten.  Cousey-1, Russell-5, Cowens-1, Bird-3.
  17. Maybe the Pac 10 isn't as bad as some people thought.
  18. Thanks for the reply. What about the fans? Is there such a thing as a die hard Clipper fan? If so what % are Clipper fans & what % are Laker fans who can't get or afford Laker tickets? What a waste of a hard to come by NBA franchise in So Cal.
  19. I know the Clippers had to leave SD, but moving to LA seemed suicidal to me. Do they really have fans or are their season ticket holders just Laker fans who couldn't get Laker tickets? What is the price differential? It always seems when I catch a Clipper "home game" against the Lakers the Clipper fans are in the minority. It is too bad this franchise can't get its act together because I think this could be a great rivalry if they ever could become winners. I think their greatest moment since moving to LA is getting out of the dilapidated Sports Arena.
  20. In reference to Haslett, not only has he kept the Saints somewhat competitive, his hair looks good. What brand of hair coloring do you think he uses?
