its fine the way it is, none of the bubble teams are ever going to actually win the tourney, cuse could of made the 16 though... if it were me id probly lessen the field and get rid of the play in game, because i think its stupid, or if you are going to have a play in game, do what the thread starter said and make there 4 play in games

no they dont, great teams win championships, there are a ton of stats that disprove all of the old school cliche's like "defense wins championships" and "you have to run the ball and stop the run"... espn actually ran an article on it a year or 2 ago showing how great offenses win just as much as great defenses

Definitly in Voss' best interests to redshirt this year, that way he can start for 2 years at QB (provided he wins the job). I say he redshirts this year, plays some DB for a couple years, then trys to win the QB job after Grothe graduates.

our bowl tie ins are going to be a mess for the next few years because we had to negotiate them when we were considered left for dead, the good ones we have (sun/gator) were really only kept by alternating with the big 12 and using notre dame if we keep improving and travel well, we will get a much better situation in 09 when these things are redone, until then we will just have to deal with BCS or bust

thats crap that howie got ran off of here, i dont remember that happening, we need to do something to get him back here, hes actually the guy who refered me to this site a while back, im a bengals fan and a few years ago the bengals had a usf guy on our training camp roster (he never made the team and i forget his name, he was a DB though i think), and he came by our message board to ask about him and tell us about him, anyway i told him i was a usf fan and he sent me here always nice to see respect from the wvu fans, BE fans are so much more friendly than the C-USA ones were

what bothers me is the people walking around wearing gator crap actually what got me the most mad was tuesday, i was in the marine science building on the st pete campus going to one of my classes, and i see a "Go Gators" sign hanging on a teachers office door, how often do you think you see "Go Bulls" signs hanging in UF buildings... >

yea we didnt beat anyone good in the bowl games because our bowl tie ins are horrible, i cant wait until these contracts run out and we get some better bowls, we should have something like the gator every year, and our #2 should be another one on about that same level, the texas bowl showed potential, and the international bowl would be ok if we could get a different opponent in there, the papa johns bowl was a mess though and i doubt it lasts either way it was a good year for the big east, were probly 3rd or 4th among conferences this year, not bad but not as good as some of our fans think, showed a lot of promise for the future though, and have at the least assured that we wont lose our bcs status, plus we kept most of the coaches it would be nice to get a 9th team for scheduling reasons, that and the bowl situation are the biggest problems for the conference, at least talent on the field isnt an issue what would be really nice is if we could get the outback bowl away from the big 10, unlikely, but if they got first BE pick after the BCS game, i would think it would be pretty attractive for them, knowing that it would probly be either WVU, Lou, Rutgers (who all travel well) or USF, who obviously would bring a lot of fans because its here. Have the gator as our #2, then the texas bowl (or the sun if we could keep it, doubtful)

if we can get ucf to sign some 2 for 1's id be all for keeping them, but a long term 1 for 1 series with them is pointless, if they wont do 2 for 1s just drop them and do 2 for 1's with FAU and FIU

doubt it They have one of the best recruiting classes every year and it never amounts to anything. Ill believe it when i see it. good article though

obviously no to all 3, the dissing of the acc is getting a bit too far, they had a bad year but they are still in very good shape, they have a lot of great schools i dont think the wac should be bcs, but i do think they should take some of the best teams from the MWC and some of the best from the WAC and make a bcs conference, theres 3 eastern BCS conferences, 2 middle of the country, and 1 west, they need a 2nd one out there, plus when you take TCU, Utah, BYU, BSU, Hawaii, Nevada, Fresno St, San Jose St... might be missing a couple but that would be a very good conference

Lets not be ignorant here, the acc will be fine, they are obviously having a down year, and it may continue next year, but this year they showed their depth. If WVU and UL had down years at the same time do you really think teams like Cuse or UCONN could step up and be ranked? I dont. Miami and FSU will get better, VT still had a good year, and they have some other promising schools, they'll be fine. Dont get me wrong i love seeing them do bad, but I dont expect it to continue

would you rather them go to fsu or miami? at least if they dont go here id rather them stay in conference

yeah as much as it sucked that grothe got injured and didnt get to play the bowl game that he was so instrumental in getting the team to, it was still good that PJ got to play a lot during it, good way for a senior to go out, mad respect for the guy

kinda lost in the excitement of the bowl win but Solomon Jones had a pretty big game in a loss vs detroit, 10 points 10 rebounds, with 8 being offensive im assuming this is his first nba double double... he did foul out of the game though

This is great news for the Big East. None of our current coaches (at least the top 4) are interested in leaving.

louisville and wvu to win i think louisville would rep the big east a lot better in the bcs than rutgers

sportscenter sorta took a shot at us last night too, they were going through the coaches that denied alabama and their reasons, when they got to usf they said, "South florida coach says, if i have the best job in the country why would i want to go anywhere" and the other guy said, "what?!" and they both started laughing at least our name is getting out there

What about the Sun Bowl? Is Texas going there? I would think if texas doesnt go to the sun bowl WVU/Rutgers/Lou would be better for them than a team like Nebraska or A&M. Bare with me im not 100% up on how these things are claimed.

This would be A LOT easier if Nevada can take out Boise State this week. Everyone in the big east should be big nevada fans right now..
