Instead of names what are the right attributes for the next head coach?
For me the HC has to be a former player, not just "daddy's walk-on", one who played the game and was a winner. During recruiting a HC who is a fmr player will recognize a player and properly set expectations. Think Leavitt, Taggart, Frost and Heupel.
Has demonstrated success as a HC at some collegiate level. I don't care if it's FCS, Division II, FBS
Brings an area of expertise either offense or defense. For USF to be successful they have to be really good at one side of the ball; offense or defense. Leavitt was defense Taggart was offense Strong was defense.
Knows the Bay and can recruit the Bay.
