  1. I think it is a bad move. Zook was 3 plays away from being undefeated and in the top 5. He has recruited fantastic players (far from falling apart). CJL would be long gone if he he had to live up to those standards. Now Jopa, on the other hand, it may be time for him to go. I hope he comes back next year so we can have a chance of beating a Paterno coached Penn State. One last thing... look at Auburn. They wanted to replace the coach last year and now they are undefeated and may win the NC.
  2. Thuggery should never be acceptable and is an indication of low or no class. Granted these guys are young, but character is something that the coaching staff can and should develop by reducing playing time for people who fail to grasp the concepts of hard work and sportsmanship.
  3. I think tonight will be a good indication of our coaching ability. Hopefully we can run the ball to keep your offense on the sidelines and get the defense to stiffen up enough to make the game close so we can pull a victory out.
  4. I think Hall is a great back, but I wouldn't use him to punch it in on the goal line. We should go to Crossley for that if we want to run. If we don't want to run, hey, you expect a team to be able to make a pass every now and then. Maybe we should give Gachette a chance at QB
  5. You know what, maybe we have become too full of ourselves, especially if the players are like the fans here. We can't think that we are going to whip up on anybody the way we are playing now. I'm glad Charleston Southern isn't on the schedule this year. Actually, at this point in time I don't know if we are even the 5th best team in the state. I think even UCF could give us a tough game and maybe even beat us - even here in Tampa.
  6. I just hope that the injury is very minor or we could be in even more trouble.
  7. Right now I don't even care about a bowl, I want us to change the offense to an I formation or pro set, get a little bit of pride on defense, and to just play the games with hard work.
  8. nice article. I like the part about trusting CJL's word, and especially the quote " ...but we've had a lot of success with players from Dixie Hollins. Tchecoy Blount, Glenn Davis, DeAndrew Rubin, Marquel Blackwell. All four got their degrees."
  9. I'm a Gator fan and loved Spurrier's time there, but I'm satisfied now with Zook, as I see great things coming from that program. I think it would be a mistake for Florida to go back to Spurrier. As for my Bulls, I like CJL and think he should be here for a long time, but I would like to see the team more disciplined (which probably wouldn't happen under Spurrier as the Gators always had the same stupid penalties that we do) Let's keep the man we have as head coach and let him win a national championship with the program he built from just an idea.
  10. there should also be a fair amount of S Miss fans, which always makes it more fun.
  11. Over the last few years I've come to never taking field goals or extra points for granted.
  12. excellent news. I hope the kid can make a full recovery.
  13. I'm in the camp that says can this new "tradition" since it is just a copy of some others, especially FSU. Instead just snap a photo of the guys all at the 50 yard line pointing to the scoreboard, or something like that.
  14. i was listening on the radio over the internet and heard the end. For a while I listened to the TCU broadcast. Here's a site I found that points to many broadcasts (but strangely enough not ours) http://www.penguinradio.com/sports/football/college/index.php
  15. I agree there is a difference with losing and getting our butts kicked. I was embarrassed with the way our team played. After the game I watched the rest of the UF / TN game, and although I was pissed that the gators lost, I was impressed with the team and especially the qb Leak. What would it be like to have him for three years?
  16. who knows what will happen the rest of the year? It's too early to say we need a new OC, even though I have always hated the no huddle offense, and especially running from the shotgun.
  17. I don't think that anybody needs to turn up the heat on coach L. I'm sure he is doing it enough already on his own. I agree yesterday's game was extremely frustrating and embarrasing to listen to, but the season is still young. I want to see progress. Let's hope we have a better showing against TCU.
  18. We may see a bit of Gachette if things don't get any better, but I'm sure CJL will play the guy(s) that he thinks will give us the best shot at winning.
  19. I assume it goes into the general university funds, but then again I don't know. It was worth it because we have to play good competition to become better ourselves. It seems like each year we have a game where we take a beating, but we have to learn from them and advance. Growing pains hurt.
  20. Yeah, and if we played UF yesterday we would have probably lost 63-0.
  21. I don't think I would say that Banks should never play for us again, but I don't think that he should be our starter. I do think changes have to be made, though, because nothing seems to work. One thing I really hate is our super short passing game. I'm listening on the radio and here that Banks has completed a pass, I'm waiting for the announcer to say we've made the first down, and it turns out to be a 3 or 4 yard gain. What ever happened to the 15-20 yd routes? One thing for sure with our dismal offense we need to run the clock as much as possible. Maybe we should go to a wishbone option style and just run every play.
  22. Don't sell Banks short. We know he has the ability to play well. Let's hope we go to an I or pro set formation and give him some help with the running game, which should give him more time when he does throw.
