  1. Yeah, and if we played UF yesterday we would have probably lost 63-0.
  2. I don't think I would say that Banks should never play for us again, but I don't think that he should be our starter. I do think changes have to be made, though, because nothing seems to work. One thing I really hate is our super short passing game. I'm listening on the radio and here that Banks has completed a pass, I'm waiting for the announcer to say we've made the first down, and it turns out to be a 3 or 4 yard gain. What ever happened to the 15-20 yd routes? One thing for sure with our dismal offense we need to run the clock as much as possible. Maybe we should go to a wishbone option style and just run every play.
  3. Don't sell Banks short. We know he has the ability to play well. Let's hope we go to an I or pro set formation and give him some help with the running game, which should give him more time when he does throw.
  4. We will make our own good luck. Pound them into the ground, Bulls.
  5. Well, it would help the defense a bit if we huddled up on offense and ran more time off the 25 second clock than we usually do. Usually they start it when we are lined up since we don't huddle, and we take only a few seconds before the ball is snapped. We can be 3 and out even with a run and only take a minute or so off the clock.
  6. What's the upper bowl seat? 25,000? I would give them the ticket revenue from that ($625,000 at $25, but maybe we would charge $30 and still give them $625,000 and keep the rest for us). We could use some money too, you know. Hey, just make it a $600,000 payout.
  7. I hope we can do it. FSU would think of it as a home game, and we would sell out the entire stadium if they opened the upper level (albeit there would be more of their fans in the stadium than ours), so we could offer a good payout.
  8. College football should be played on Saturday. The game is all about tradition, with fans converging on their Alma Mater from all over and staying for the weekend, sometimes even on campus when a parking lot is opened up into a temporary city for RVs. You can see old men dressed in school colors reliving their youth of 40, 50, or even more years ago, as well as little girls not even old enough for kindergarten dressed in school cheerleader outfits. Sure, we at USF are new to the whole thing, but we're already developing traditions and creating great memories. There is a magic to college football that in my opnion makes it the greatest spectator sport there is. The NFL does not compare. Some things mean more than a couple dollars.
  9. You know, they could do that on a broadcast of the game. Just digitally add all the USF logos on the field and stadium. Maybe even add smazza there if the game is switched to a different date.
  10. As for the quarterbacks, I thought Kraky played pretty well all considered. He was a bit high on many passes, had one bad throw that should have been picked off, but managed to scramble around and look for an open receiver most of the time. Julmiste has amazing arm strength, but to me didn't look as comfortable back there as Kraky. Banks did alright and made some nice throws, but I can't help feeling that he won't do well if he is under pressure. I would like to have him prove me wrong, though. I don't know right now who I would list as the best of the three. We were lining up behind center more often, but I don't know how many plays. I would guess maybe a dozen times. I hope to see much more of it during the season. I've always hated handing the ball off from the shotgun.
  11. I will be dissapointed if we change the time, and I doubt it would improve attendance. It just seems that as of now, USF football just isn't much of a draw in the Bay area. I'm sure things will change with time, and nice wins over teams like Pitt and SC will help, but progress is in the future. I expect we'll have about 30k seats sold for the game, and about 5 to 10k fewer in the stands. It was hot enough at the spring game. Just think of what it will be like in summer. If they change things I'll still be there, but hey, I like the night games.
  12. SEC and Big 10 schools as a rule travel very well. If I was on the Outback Bowl committee, it would take a lot of thought before I would want to change. BCS bowls have big payoffs. Would Outback (the company) have to come up with more cash to sponsor a BCS game, or is the difference made up with TV revenue?
  13. Hey, she owned the ski resort and likes to work the lift every now and then. What's wrong with that?
