RUSSO (AP College Football Writer)•Sep 9, 2016, 10:38 PM Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy was part of South Florida's pitch to the Big 12 and former major league first baseman Tino Martinez also went to bat for the Bulls. The Big 12 on Friday concluded a week of meetings in North Texas with the 11 schools vying to join the conference. USF, Cincinnati and Rice made the final presentations, according to three people with knowledge of the meetings who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the conference was keeping its meetings confidential. According to a person familiar with USF's pitch, Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeffrey Vinik was part of the team sent to Texas and the presentation included a video with Dungy and Martinez endorsing the Bulls.
  2. That part does not make sense to me either. They should be in the first tier at least for "political reasons"
  3. Presentation made already per this website. not good news if true https://tmgcollegesports.com/2016/09/09/big-12-expansion-waiting-begins-for-uconn/ BIG 12 EXPANSION: WAITING BEGINS FOR UCONN Posted by Mark Blaudschun | Sep 9, 2016 | A Jersey Guy | 0 Here, according to sources familiar with the process, is where we are in the Big 12 Will Expand/ Big 12 Won’t Expand Derby. Interviews/presentations: They will continue through the end of next week. Of the 11 schools on the interview “list”, UConn, Houston,UCF and USF had made (as of Friday morning) their sales pitches. Remaining: Air Force, BYU, SMU, Rice, Colorado State, Tulane, and Cincinnati. It is a two-tiered list: Cincinnati , UConn, BYU and UCF are in the first group and have already been vetted by the Big 12. Their presentations were filled with additional details beyond the basics. The other 7 schools required more of an introduction and have almost no chance of making the final cut unless some major unknown additions made in their presentations. Most of those schools are being interviewed for political reasons. The rest of this article is available to subscribers only – to become a subscriber click here.

  5. Very nice!!! Soflo uniform looks more complete with this helmet. One of the best uniform combos.
  6. Just checking to see if anyone is interested in selling their parking pass. Lots 5 or 6 would be preferred.
  7. 'It will be the second ranked opponent that USF will face this season. The Bulls lost to No. 1 Kentucky 84-63 in November, one of the many tough opponents on the USF schedule which currently ranks No. 20 in difficulty according to the NCAA.' Makes me feel a little better about 3-11
  8. @TBTimes_Bulls: The 5 teams that have defeated SMU, which faces #USF Saturday, are a combined 30-3: TCU, Baylor, Houston, ECU, James Madison per Joey Knight tweet all 3 losses are from ECU
  9. Undergrad at USF Post grad at MD First road game since ND as well. Will be rooting for the Green and Gold.....Go Bulls!!!
  10. Great stories! Glad thst they are only Juniors Interesting that facilities and academics were cited as the reason Williams chose USF.
  11. Nice to see that they have something to celebrate! It's been a tough year for them with their football program getting shut down.
  12. .........if it was held today. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology USF's 8 games were mostly against these top teams. The rest of the schedule will be "easier". Hope we can take advantage!
  13. Amazing to think that only 3 Big East teams remain from the 16 teams that made up the conference in 2005 Imagine how UConn must feel, last of the original members.
  14. most disappointing teams per Dari Nowhah on CFB Daily on ESPNU 5. USF 4. OU 3. Auburn 2. USC 1. Arkansas
  15. When do extra tickets for this game go on sale for season ticket holders?
