  1. I think the part in bold is a bit exaggerated. You could put that game on any day and the audience would be huge.
  2. At the same time it was not those other schools that put this system together. It was the Florida and Michigans that felt it was best to make the current (at that time) scope of college football as stagnant as possible and lock out anyone that was not in their little party from having a snow balls chance in hell of getting into a major bowl and sharing in the money. If the bcs had been around 40 years ago UF and FSU would be mid majors, if it was 25 years ago Miami would be a mid major. They knew this and contrived an ingenious plan of locking the door for any other team to achieve what they have. So, again I'll say that after their greedy little plan caused them to suffer I have zero sympathy and think they should just deal with it and enjoy the fact that they are still getting what they really wanted.....lot's and lot's of money. Of course I still hope a playoff happens but these teams need to just quit whining that they got shafted when the motivations were in the best interest of their wallets and not their teams.
  3. To put it another way. YES it is great a school with clout is pushing for a playoff system which I think is what we should have anyway. BUT it's the motivation behind it all that deserved to be critisized, I certainly didn't hear florida fans crying for a playoff 2 years ago, in fact anyone I talked to would just say that it was the way it should be since the non bcs schools didn't "deserve" to share in the big money. Of course that was when they were no where near sniffing a bcs game yet still got the money. Now they they are personally affected (by their own greed) the whining starts. So as I mentioned above, I agree with the playoff yet I still can't help but chuckle at the complaints of not getting into the big game since it is ALL caused by them doing everything they possibly can to hoard the money.
  4. poor poor sec  :'( while I think a playoff system would be best it just cracks me up all these arogant schools that have hoarded all the big $$ over the years and each time one of them has to suffer because of their own greed they cry about it. Get over it UF!
  5. WOW! What a collosal waste of time this replay was! I tivo'd it and watched it last night and they hacked the game up so bad that it wasn't worth a ****. It was essentially the 5 minute highlight reel + part of our last drive + 1.5 hours of commercials (and the entire broadcast was shortened to 2 hours). I felt like I was watching a 2 hour commercial occasionally broken up with a play or two of football. Is this the way the replays are normally done? I hope the reply tonight is in full and not this crap they showed tuesday morning.
  6. I agree, a shirt with logo on the front chest is my preferred also. How about a coffee mug too while were at it
  7. I've been taking mandarin the past few months but can't say it sounds familiar....at least I don't hear the hello/goodbye that I've learned so far ÂÂ
  8. yeah, I use the windows mobile on mine as well and when I come here even with the broadband I've got to shut off all the graphics to make it run a bit better. Was hoping for a better answer but at least I have some access to it while I'm out!
  9. I do the same from my Treo....just wish there was a WAP version of the site to make it easier How about it Velcro? Is it possible??  :)
  10. The wife and I will be there. Drive up on the 22nd and back after the game on the 23rd.
  11. When is it going to be understood that WVU's offense makes everybody's D look terrible. I guess only when you line up against them. Those guys are seriously unstoppable. And I don't think it's Slaton and White.  They're both awesome players, but it's the scheme.  Every freaking run is untouched for 15 yards.  The holes they have to work with are huuuge.  And it does not matter whose defense they are up against.  I was going to say the exact same thing. Can anyone name a defense in the past two years that has not looked like crap against them?
  12. I probably don't really want to ask this but what exactly is the "game day soap song"? lol
  13. LOVE Grothe's comments about shutting the crowd! About the classes, well IMO it's college and there are two distinctly different issues. 1)attending class 2)making the grades It isn't high school and as long as you make the grade there should be no requirement whatsoever in actually sitting in the room. That being said, I'll assume that making the grade was the true problem here...at least I hope that they weren't kicked off the team if they are passing but just not sitting in the room.
  14. Of course! No problems here Never, ever, ever in a million years will I root for ND to win a game much less a receive a BCS bid....sorry! That's okay. Not rooting for Notre Dame is the same thing as not rooting for USF to go to a bowl game.  Just so you're okay with that... you are rooting for USF to not get a bowl game. I disagree, if we take care of business then we will be in a bowl. ND can (and I hope does) rot in hell
  15. Of course! No problems here Never, ever, ever in a million years will I root for ND to win a game much less a receive a BCS bid....sorry!
  16. It's easier for the students to get to RayJay than it would be to try and have them cross Fowler Ave .... unless they build several more of the MOSI type pedestrian bridges.   That's what traffic cops are for.....
  17. hmmm, I needed one back in april and just walked into the passport agency in the airport post office with no appointment and had no problem. Also, for those that wait till the last minute like I did you can have it expidited, I got mine a week later but it was fairly costly. I think there is a one week and a two week option at different costs.
  18. it's a waste of time, I tried to point out the weak schedule to smazza last week but he just picks and chooses opponents to suit his argument. He mentiones WVU beating eastern washington but fails to mention texas playing sam houston state. He continuously points out ohio state but I'm sorry I fail to see how a LOSS to anyone should bring a team respect. IMO, looking at the texas schedule they played ONE good ooc team and they lost so there is absolutely nothing in their schedule that puts them ahead of any team in the country. As far as conference, there are maybe 3 decent teams, so put them all together and texas plays 3 games out of 12 that are worth a **** and this is the status quo for all teams around the country so IMO the whole sos argument is a joke. Yeah, one team may play 3 instead of 2 decent teams or 4 instead of 3....that still leaves nearly everyone playing crap for just about the entire season.
  19. The timeout was a bit bizarre, but the actual call was a good one. Better to try and pin them deeper in their territory than to risk having another miss, which would have been highly probable with out kicking game. I don't disagree with the decision to punt instead of going for a field goal but I just don't see the need to fake it. Our problems have stemmed from innacurate kicking and poor punting, neither of which is correctable by the fake.....as demonstrated by the way the kick went sailing long into the endzone. Overall I'd say he made some decent calls yesterday but that one was just bizzare IMO
  20. still some bizzare plays though, 35 years of watching football and I can't recall ever seeing a team fake a field goal in order to punt.....and a time out called to set that up on top of it.
  21. I agree, what a GREAT day for football yesterday was! I would put in the band's halftime show as another reason the day was so much fun. Hands down that was the most enjoyable show I've ever seen them put on. Costumes were great, music sounded great and the pieces chosen were a blast....great job HOT!
  22. I saw it, said something along the lines of "Matt's bringing sexy bacK" unfortunately I can't remember if that is exact or not
  23. wish I could but I'm working late then watching the game with my dad. I'll see you at the game tomorrow though Brad!
  24. have to agree with Brad and Bien, you are going back and forth between two issues. Are you debating the original point of why we would root for other be teams and what benefit there is to them doing well or Are you debating the necessity of having a strong ooc schedule? Point one has been beaten to death and I haven't seen any logical reason from you on what benefit there is to us to hope the other teams do poorly. for the second point, I personally agree that the ooc schedules should be stronger BUT to say that teams in the BE are playing easier schedules then other leagues is just wrong....they are ALL terrible. two issues dont understand why a usf fan would root for other big east teams during regular season SOS for wv,ul,pitt and rutgers is soem of the worst for ranked teams.i have given many examples.until big east schedule top teams big east will not get respect wait until you see where loser of ul/wv ends up in polls so your saying that 1)sos is extremely important and 2) we should root for the teams that we will play every year to suck so our sos will be worse off well not sure if it's the the attourney or the liberal in you that causes such a lack of logic but either way thanks for giving me such a good chuckle tonight! ;D
