  1. First time Rutgers in top 25 since 1976... I think it will be a sea of red (even on a friday). These established programs all travel well, some even better than others ie. Louisville. Look out Bulls! Take note of how these established programs do business!
  2. JimUSF SIg..Thanks for clarifying the new passport rule effective date of Jan 8th. At least we won't have that as a obstacle to "travelling" to Toronto-still very interesting to consider how many would actually travel to Canada.
  3. For $1million a year USF gets the following: 1. A coach who is just an average recruiter. 2. A coach who can barely talk in public. 3. A coach who won't compliment Grothe-his only offense YTD. 4. A defensive minded coach whose defense has not performed well YTD. 5. A coach who thought there was enough of a QB controversy to actually start PJ in game#1. We almost lost that D1AA game. I know everybody likes to hold CJL in high esteem because he "grew" the program from the dirt up. But, please it's now 10 years. We need a coach who can grow us for the next 10 years. Does CJL have that much personal talent or anywhere near that much luck?? Or, consider this about CJL. What would our record be thus far without the personal heroics of one player??
  4. If we get a bowl (that's if we get a bowl) it's going to be the International Bowl in Toronto. BTW the new passport law takes affect Jan 1st-requires US Passport to get back into the US from Canada, Mexico & Carribean. We can have a contest to guess how many people will actually attend from these parts. I think that's going to be interesting.
  5. is you got 11 defenders playing stop football against one guy. General Grothe can't do it all every week. He either passed or ran for all but 11 plays tonight. It wasn't that much less @ UCF last week. Was the hand off to Randolf the best we can do to divert attention from Grothe over  60 minutes of football? Wonder what the game plan is vs. Rutgers next week?
  6. UConn doesnt show up. They're locked in a number #1 NCAA seed. Coach Mac, with Huggy rumors running, rampant pulls out an upset. Our first Big East Win!! USF wins!!!
  7. Ask yourselves these questions? How much more would coach Huggins do for attendance at the SunDome? How much more would he do in the way of local media attention for the Bulls? How much more would he do for fundraising from present and future donors?
  8. Yes;  there's a buzz in the air. Is USF is finally going to do something on a Big East level-hire a BB coach who can compete in the toughest, meanest NCAA basketball Conference?
  9. is he still available? is he actually under contarct with a new school?
  10. For those who have not yet seen these 4 video boards in action you really need to be there to appreciate the high qaulity and the overall change and upgrade they bring to the Sundome experience. It's truly a quality NCAA basketball facility now The live feed, stats, crowd participation scenes are great for us older fans but  the real benefit is attracting the younger more technical,digital-savy crowd. I expect the USF students will be there in force this Saturday night and for the duration of the Big East season. The new Scoreboards are by far the most significant "win" we've had in a long time, other than being invited to the Big East. Hopefully, we can develope some momentum.
  11. This is an example (albeit a little extreme-if the millions and million$ are, in fact correct) of the difference between USF and.. well the rest of the collegiate sports establishment. Start with most of the CUSA schools and work your way up. Heck, there's probably dozens of lesser known, smaller schools (D1 and lower) who raise millions more than USF. It's called maturity and it takes generations of fans and donors. We have such a long way to go.
  12. It's all about money. Donors..donors.. and.. more donors. Until then we are stuck in mediocrity.
  13. Can't fire RMC.. he worked USF over for a 5 year extension the first year of his original three year contract..
  14. Let me see.. there were 4 BCS Bowl games shown locally, plus.... the Outback...the gator bowl...the Citrus.. and the "local" team USF came in 8th in local veiwing ratings? What do you expect? USF is not Tampa Bay's "local team".. Everyone else is..
  15. Let's see how many show up in Charlotte. It will be somewhere between 3000-4000 max and those are your diehards. Take your 3000-4000 diehards add bandwagoneers of another 1500-2000 plus maybe 500 students and bingo you have USF's largest traveling crowd in history somewhere between 4000-6500. So you're looking at approximately 5000, not enough to ever expect a Gator Bowl bid.
  16. I've been back and to NC twice since Thanksgiving and there's a Citgo gas station @ Exit 29 on I-95 in South Georgia.. Gas has been $1.99, the cheapest of anywhere . Or, Exit 6 is usually cheap as well. Let's see those Bulls flags and make some noise up I-95 on Friday!! Bullsayer
  17. Let me see.. 4 Bowl tickets; hooded all-weather jacket for me and my wife and son-in-law; pink Bulls hats for wife, daughter, sister-in-law; Bulls hats for two nephews;fitted hat for son-in-law..
  18. This is a great scheduel six home gmaes plus a "road trip" to UCF. I wonder how we will travel down I-4 to Orlando? I hope we don't have any Hurricane delays this year.
