  1. Corso also told Hierbstreet in a stern voice that our win was no fluke, before Hierbstreet was able to say any different.
  2. Bush has an all-american supporting cast to back him up, where as Hall doesnt. This is like comparing Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith in thier prime. Sanders got the job done with less talented players than Emmitt. Imagine what Sanders would have done behind that Dallas O-Line. Same goes for Andre Hall, he would get 2,000 yards easy in that USC backfield.
  3. This is a nationally televised game and it is our Big East opener. This is a huge day for USF sports. They painted the field up very nice when TCU came in and was nationally ranked a couple of years ago, I would expect they would do the same this weekend. I would be extremely disappointed if they didnt.
  4. From the sounds of this article sounds like UofL is looking right past us.
  5. I hope you are right about Andre having a big game at UM. If he has a huge season, forget about the heisman hype, we will be getting a lot of looks from big time RB recruits this coming season. Not that we arent looking good at RB for the future with Ponton and even Simpson, but I think if Hall gets a lot of press and hype we could potentially land at four or five star RB recruit to replace him. So win or lose the better the game Hall has the more it benefits us in the long run.
  6. I have to give props to Julmiste, I dont ever remember him stringing together 3 solid games in a row like he has thus far. Decision making continues to improve as well as his ability to handle pressure. I guess the real test will come next week against UofL when we wont be able to rely on the running game as much and he will be forced to throw a little more. I for one cant wait to see him put to the test. Also want to point out once again the play of Mike Jenkins. He continues to improve. He broke up quite a few potential big plays which could have been game momentum changers. Great Game.
  7. PSU's Offense is hapless when compared to who? YOU?! Give me a break. Penn State played in the Big 10 last season while you played in the MAC! To imply that our defensive line isnt talented enough to get to your QB based on the fact that we let Penn State gain 300 yards on is like comparing apples to oranges. They play in one of the best conferences in the country, while you....don't. So there is no comparison or inference to be made. Just how "hapless" do you think PSU's offense would have been last season if they played your schedule from last season? If you want a real inference from the PSU game, how about the fact that we didnt allow a sack against last years number 5 ranked defense in the country. Now that is something that is actually impressive.
  8. If your guys truly are rated higher than ours man for man, then you have a large group of underachievers on your hands dont ya? We had a tougher schedule last year and went 4-7 whild you guys posted an 0-11 season. How is that possible with an easier schedule while at the same time having a team rated higher than ours at every position? Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm!
  9. This is exactly why schools like FSU have refused to play us. And why the UM 1 for 1 was so shocking. Hopefully we beat UCF saturday, and then they go on an 8 game winning streak and show that they werent a cupcake win.
  10. I agree with Mark, the more people we get in the stadium the better. Last game there were a lot of FAMU fans in the stands, granted. But now that we actually had something to get those football fans out to the stadium, maybe they will be interested enough to keep on coming back.
  11. 71 seems about right...although I think we have the potential to go much higher. Same goes for UCF at 98.
  12. Wasnt Penn State like the only team in the Big 10 to win today? As for that Marshall game, that was one of the worst coaching decisions I have ever seen. In case you missed the game...Marshall is down by 2, there is about 8 seconds left on the clock and they still have 1 timeout. And they are inside the 20, possibly even inside the 15 if I remember correctly. Everyone in the stadium including the announcers believed that Marshall would run the ball as to center the field position for the kicker, they would then call a timeout, and try the 28 yard field goal or whatever it was. And they win the game. But what does Marshall do? They pass the ball and it gets intercepted! Horrible play call.
  13. I just wanted to reiterate that Mike Jenkins looked very impressive tonight, as did the defense on a whole for the second week in a row. With the exception of those two big runs last week against Penn State the D was great so that was very promising. Also, I was impressed with Julmiste once again. For those of you who didnt see the game the boxscore is a little deceptive. He looked very good when he was in. Once again I was most impressed with his decision making ability. He also scrambled very well on a couple of occassions to get out of trouble and made a few positive plays as a result. As Bien stated, I believe the reason we didnt pass much is, one...because we didnt need to, the running game was dominating tonight. And two...CJL may not have wanted to give anything away to UCF for next week. All in all, despite the low passing numbers, PJ and the offense was still impressive. As what about Cedric Hill, he looked like a beast!
  14. You are right Gary, I was listening on the radio at the game and I believe they said both teams only had 3 penalties during the first half. It wasnt until the 2nd half when we were rotating our 2nd and 3rd string players that we were committing more penalties. I dont think this was a problem tonight. We had very few penalties at Penn State, and very few the first half with the starters. The kicking game is what i'm worried about. Thats 2 weeks in a row.
  15. I am hoping he builds up quite a lead by the 2nd half so that we may see Carlton Hill at QB for a few snaps. The curiosity is killing me.

  17. "Our little hour,?how swift it flies When poppies flare and lilies smile; How soon the fleeting minute dies, Leaving us but a little while To dream our dream, to sing our song, To pick the fruit, to pluck the flower, The Gods? They do not give us long,? One little hour." I feel your pain E.T. I went through a similar experience with my family, and it was a very difficult time. If there is anything I can do let me know my friend. Spence
  18. Thanks Greg, I definatly misread that. I was thinking all-country, and no scholarship...must be another head case or something lol. Still all county is pretty good.
  19. Does any1 know anything about LB Scott Williams listed above? If he was listed as an "all-country honorable mention" then I would assume he was a prized recruit. So why did he not land a scholarship anywhere? And will he be eligable to play this season? http://www.sptimes.com/2005/09/06/Sports/Running_game_has_Flor.shtml
  20. Baker put one helluva hit on that penn state return man (can't recall his name) to save a TD. He looked much bigger this year than in years past.
  21. I think so many forget just how good the Penn State Defense is nationally, and taking that into consideration we played very admirably. We were nearly 4 TD underdogs going into the game and only lost by 10, we lost a lot of people money in Vegas. We will get better, here are some other positives to be taken from the game. http://sports.tbo.com/sports/MGB40DZ38DE.html
  22. Hey Doug what about that hit Brandon Baker layed on the Penn State return man to save the TD. Quite a hit to lay on someone for a punter. Is it just me or did he look Huge!
  23. Getting out of the huddle has nothing to do with clock management. It is the responsibility of the coaches to manage the clock. If they see there is only 4 minutes left and the team is not running a hurry up offense, then they need to have a signal to let someone in the huddle know. Or they need to call a timeout and make adjustments. You do not blame the players for poor clock management.
