  1. I'd give it an 8. I wished it had been a higher profile opponent but it's been a long time and I could not have predicted how we've finished, we're a dangerous team right now.
  2. Wally had more talent to work with, Allen has an aggressive scheme that works with the talent we got. I think we're safe with all the coaching staff staying this year. We're all a tune with the turnaround however, for the rest of the country we're under the radar. Let's face it we were all happy with firing everyone after week 4 of the season and potential suitors for the coaches will look at the body of work for 3 years and not get excited. Enjoy this bowl and off season and the coaching continuity, this time next year is when we have to worry.
  3. We will be the favorite in the east of the AAC and receive votes in the polls but not enough to crack the 25 till we beat FSU.
  4. Yes, If not for 1 player (Dalvin Cook) we would've beaten that team in the capital.
  5. Yes, we will bowl. If we beat Temple we go 8-4 with a bowl win, 9-4. If we lose to Temple we will go 6-6 and win a bowl finish 7-6. Yes, I will attend the bowl.
  6. Easy question we've done the former never done the latter, win the AAC.
  7. Like many have stated, 6 wins he stays for sure, 5 depending upon how the season progresses and it looks like we're making improvement on the field (end of season strength of the opponents, etc), and of course a win against UCF would weigh heavily.
  8. Most up lifting thing regarding this team I've read in a while.
  9. I hate starting over again with a 4th coach but sadly, I believe the over-under for this team is 5 wins, NO Bowl.
  10. Leavitt believed defense wins games and put his best athletes on defense that's why we had so many defensive players go on to the nfl who he recruited.
  11. Disagree to this 50%. Leavitt knew defense and he knew D talent. He proved it at more than one college. I don't really know how great Leavitt was at X's and O's. But one thing he was absolutely incredible at was talent evaluation. You don't do what he did in such a short time here without having that. No one wanted George Selvie except who? Leavitt. He was a 1 star Olineman. We were the only D1 school to offer him and Leavitt put him on the defensive side of the ball and became an all american. Nate Allen - a 2 Star QB out of high school. Offered him and put him on the defensive side of the ball. Those are the two players off the top of my head and who knows how many more there are. We have a lot of guys that were and still are in the NFL that were recruited by Leavitt. He knew what he was doing when it came to deciding who could play and who couldn't.
  12. His introduction and flashing of the bull horns with his hand. As for games I can't really come up with anything. Heck, Skip at least gave us 2 big wins, Clemson & ND which standout.
  13. Last regular season series for Lelo, has anyone started a list of his potential replacements?
  14. The concerning part is that UConn which we beat and looked like a total reck for 9 games actually won their last 3 games and posted improvement at the end of the season and aside from Defense we look just as bad now as we did against McNeese.
  15. I agree JuCo is not the route for a QB in this system, too hard to pickup and be proficient in a short time. Bench won't be the second coming but will improve with experience. Keep recruiting best available HS QB talent and have open competition each fall.
  16. That's kinda my point Joe he was there 5 years and won two titles his last two years he was obviously successful how did he screw up so bad here, I'm not defending him I glad he's gone just don't understand.
  17. I agree with what you say Ruger but, what I can't understand is how was Holtz able to win a couple of CUSA titles during his tenure I know it wasn't BEAST caliber but it wasn't that much below.
  18. Pyotr your right there was a time when that team we faced today (late 70's) contemplated dropping football then Schnellenburger came along and 5 national championships later they're back again as a power. We'll get better.
