  1. Didn't attend college, but started supporting the Bulls in the inaugural '97 season. Kizarvexis
  2. Don't forget the club sections. You have a few hundred seats empty from those as well. I know the few times we have picked up club seats from someone, my kids love to sit in there instead of in the stands. Not to mention, the people in the box seats that the corporations own. Kizarvexis
  3. Well, the Outback Jr. Bulls section moved from the SW corner (121) to the SE corner 125. Now my kids are away from the players and USF cheerleaders and they are starting to get grumpy about it. Plus our section catches the flak from opposing teams and the few drunk Bulls fans yelling back. If the students moved en mass to the south endzone, we might not be able to attend anymore as the sideline seats are not in the entertainment budget right now. Unless new cheap seats opened up somewhere else, you would lose 3 Bulls fans who are not alumni, plus our other friends we invite who don't know about the Bulls yet (and we are trying to get interested in the Bulls.) The Outback Jr. Bulls Club membership for $25 is very interesting to the parents I have talked to about it. It is effectively a season ticket for a child under 12 to ANY USF sporting event. I think USF should invest in a little bit of advertising aimed at parents looking for sports enterainment that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. At $35 a pop for Bucs seats, I would never go to a Bucs game because for the cost of 4 tickets to a Bucs game you could get season tickets for the Bulls for you and two kids! So my vote is keep the official student section in the north endzone. Some students migrate to the south endzone anyways. I was impressed with the 8 students who showed up in front of us in the 2nd quarter of the Army game. We moved from 125 to 124, because of a few Army fans behind us who saw fit to direct some mild Army language (no F bombs, but other cuss words) at the field. Since my family and our friends (Navy fans ) had young children we moved away from the Army guys. Once one of the students realized they were in the kids section, he passed word to watch the language. At halftime, the two who were their to socialize wandered off. Another couple of students who wanted to be more rowdy moved to another section so as to not interfere with the kids enjoyment of the game. The 4 guys left were into the game and helped raise the volume of our section when the Bulls fans did have something to cheer about in the second half. (Which wasn't much. ) The only other thing I would wish for is for one or two parents in the Outback Jr. Bulls section to teach their children sportsmanship. There are a few kids with the attitude of, you are a Bulls fans like me or I dispise you. But since the parents seem to share in that attitude, well I guess I'll just have to hope for the best. I've been trying to teach my kids that you root for the Bulls to win and root for the other team to screw up and help the Bulls (like yelling for the punt returner to drop the ball). When the Bulls win, you congratulate the other team for a good game and if the Bulls lose, you take the loss like a man and congratulate the other team for beating the Bulls. I'm starting to see that take hold, so I hope it sticks in the future. Kizarvexis
  4. The Tampa Tribune is reporting the story. The story goes on to mention that Hall was injured, but doesn't say how. Kizarvexis
  5. I mentioned the low penalties in a few threads, but here is the breakdown through the Army game. USF vs Army saw USF only commit 8 penalties for 34 yards, which for the Bulls, is low. 2001 USF Avg 10.00 penalties for 83.00 yards 2001 Opp Avg 9.82 penalties for 82.09 yards 2002 USF Avg 11.64 penalties for 98.73 yards 2002 Opp Avg 7.27 penalties for 60.36 yards 2003 USF Avg 9.36 penalties for 83.00 yards 2003 Opp Avg 6.27 penalties for 47.91 yards So far... 2004 USF 11.20 penalties for 87.8 yards 2004 Opp 6.20 penalties for 53.40 yards USF saw a reduction of almost 1 penalty and 13 yards from last week's average. Our opponents average was almost 1 penalty for 10 yards less as well. I didn't see any critical penalties that hurt the Bulls this week. (i.e. drive changers) Kizarvexis
  6. The Bulls were 8 for 34 yards vs Army and none of the penalties were in critical situations. The per game penalties have dropped to 11.2 for 87.8 yards per game which is under the all time high. It looks like the coaches are fixing this part, now onto the other problems that have been mentioned here. Kizarvexis
  7. I've heard here on the board that he was injured. Strained neck is the unofficial word. Kizarvexis
  8. 36,549 That gives us 30,715 per game for the season so far, which is 203 more per game than last season (30,512) and 2,324 less per game than the first season (33,039). Kizarvexis

Kizarvexis
  10. Over pursuit. We would pursue to far and then Carlton Jones would cut back and it was over. 207 yards rushing in the second half (225 for the game) and 5 rushing TD's, all new records vs the Bulls. The Bulls D just didn't get the job done. Kizarvexis
  11. Here's some more Ugly that I found. - Hall had 151 yards rushing at the half, more than any previous USF player has gained in an entire game against a Division 1-A foe. (200 for the game) -35 points scored by Army in the second half which is a new record for the second half, ties the record for point in either half -22 points scored by Army in the 4th quarter, new record for Bulls opponent Kizarvexis
  12. Ok, I'm starting to agree with you guys on this. You can never have too much speed. It's like saying I have too much money. Never happens. BUT, you can be too aggressive and not cover your responsibilies. It falls on the coaches to teach the players to attack the ball, but not recklessly. Here is what Coach Leavitt had to say about coverage. I still can't believe that!  Eight men in the box and the Bulls D STILL let Carlton Jones run for 207 yards in the second half!! :o The previous record for rushing yards vs USF in a game was 210!!! :o #30 Jones had a record 225 yards rushing for the game and a record 5 TD's. This definitely has to be a wakeup call to the players, the coaches and us fans. Kizarvexis
  13. Don't forget UAB. They are playing well right now. Also, I would rather the Bulls did a 180 as a 360 would put them right back where they are now. Kizarvexis Sorry, I couldn't resist the second comment.
  14. The good - Bulls largest RJS crowd of 36,549 (30,715 for the season) - Most ever Bulls rushing attempts at 53 - Most ever Bulls yards rushing at 367 - 8 penalties for 34 yards bringing the season average down to 11.2 for 87.8 yds which is under the worst ever average The Bad - Army's Carlton Jones rushed for a 74 yard rushing TD  The Ugly - Army's Carlton Jones rushed for 225 yards - 207 after halftime (18 carries total)  - Army's Carlton Jones scored 5 TD's, 30 points  - Army's Carlton Jones had a 12.5 yard per carry average  ``We had eight guys in the box; you can't get any more than that or you won't be able to cover a receiver,'' Leavitt said. ``Our guys have to make plays.''  ??? that's bad - 2 game home losing streak.  :'( Next week the Bulls need to win vs Louisville or they will tie their all time worst losing streak at 3.  :'( Kizarvexis
  15. 36,549 according to the boxscore which is a new RJS record. That puts USF at 30,715 per game for the year so far. (all time avg was 33,038 in '97) Other records, were the 5 TD's scored by Carlton Jones of Army. The worst is the 2 game home losing streak - So. Miss and Army. Before that, USF had never lost more than 1 game at home at a time. If the Bulls don't win next week at Louisville, they will tie the worst all time losing streak at 3 ('97 games 2-4). Kizarvexis
  16. This Bulls team just got beat by Army at home. The Cadets came in and pounded the ball and the Bulls couldn't stop the cutback runs. And when Army tired of that, they threw the ball over the Bulls heads. The Bulls didn't give the game away - Army TOOK the game away from the Bulls. Forget the magical 2002 season. The Bulls aren't very good right now and if we don't grow from this adversity, then life in the Big East will not be very much fun. Bulls players, you took your lumps. Now bear down and practice your heart out to get better. Talent alone is not enough. You have to match that with skills learned in practice. Practice like you fight and you will fight like you practice. We stayed to the bitter end, unlike most of the fans and we'll be back again whether the Bulls win or not. The fans need to grow with the team and support them win or lose. But winning is definitely more fun. Kizarvexis
  17. The game is also on Ch 28 (ABC) here in Tampa. Kizarvexis
  18. Here is the future OoC from the 2004 Media Guide. 2005 Sep 3rd @Penn St. Sep 17th vs UCF 2006 Sep 16th @UCF 2007 Sep 15th @Auburn 2008 Sep 13th @UF 2009 Sep 5th @UF Kizarvexis
  19. Miss St lost to UAB 27-13 yesterday, but they did beat Tulane 28-7 on Sep 4th. Miss St's losing streak is only at 5 games dating back to that Tulane game. UCF is the only winless team in I-A with a 9 game losing streak dating back to the last win over 3-9 C. Michigan last year. Kizarvexis
  20. La Monroe beat Idaho 16-14 N. Texas beat Utah St. 31-23 ECU beat Tulane 27-25 Army beat Cincinnati 48-29 Washington beat San Jose St 21-6 Duke was idle, but beat the Citadel last week 28-10 Leaving UCF as the only winless team with a 9 game streak dating back to the last win over 3-9 C. Michigan last year. Although, if the Bulls don't beat Army next week, then I think we'll be feeling like UCF does now. Kizarvexis
  21. bulls96go has a point though. Consider all the grief UCF is getting from losing to Buffalo. If USF doesn't beat Army, then we'll be in the same boat. Kizarvexis
  22. Well 10 for 83 yards is better than last week, but the Bulls are still on pace for the all time season record for penalties. 2001 USF Avg 10.00 penalties for 83.00 yards 2001 Opp Avg 9.82 penalties for 82.09 yards 2002 USF Avg 11.64 penalties for 98.73 yards 2002 Opp Avg 7.27 penalties for 60.36 yards 2003 USF Avg 9.36 penalties for 83.00 yards 2003 Opp Avg 6.27 penalties for 47.91 yards So far... 2004 USF 12.00 penalties for 101.25 yards 2004 Opp 7.00 penalties for 63.00 yards If So. Miss hadn't had as many penalties as the Bulls, then this game would not have even been close. If the Bulls could have cleared up a few of the penalties, then it might have been even closer. Kizarvexis
  23. USF set a new record with 18 penalties for 164 yards (17 for 158yds vs UCONN 10/13/01). It places second in total penaties for a USF game with a combined 28 penalties for 268 yards (29 for 279yds vs UCONN 10/13/01). Here is the penalty breakdown since 2001. 2001 USF Avg 10.00 penalties for 83.00 yards 2001 Opp Avg 9.82 penalties for 82.09 yards 2002 USF Avg 11.64 penalties for 98.73 yards 2002 Opp Avg 7.27 penalties for 60.36 yards 2003 USF Avg 9.36 penalties for 83.00 yards 2003 Opp Avg 6.27 penalties for 47.91 yards 2004 USF 12.67 penalties for 107.33 yards 2004 Opp 6.67 penalties for 54.67 yards The Bulls are on pace this year to break the 2002 record for penalties and penalty yardage.  Kizarvexis
  24. I'm in the office park just north of the old Tampa Bay Center mall. Forced 36 hours shifts because the high mucky-mucks didn't plan ahead stinks. Kizarvexis
  25. Stuck here at work across from RJS. I missed the game and now the family is at home during this by themselves. Poopy. Kizarvexis
