  1. Well 1k students at a BB game out of 28k on campus is 3.5%. Maybe if the students who want an OCS could prove attendance by going to BB games, an OCS could be planned earlier, rather than later. Kizarvexis
  2. Forgot to add. A win at UConn ties the all time away win streak. Kizarvexis
  3. I know that unless I win the lottery and don't have to work anymore, I won't be at the WVa game unless it at 5pm or after. Kizarvexis

Most impressive streak: Games with scoring at least 3 points: 97 games (1997 - 2005) Kizarvexis
  5. ...depending on whether Pitt can defeat W. Viriginia on Thanksgiving. (If Pitt beats WVa and USF beats UConn, then the USF/WVa game would be for the title, rather than co-champions.) Ov       Conf 8-1 WVa   5-0   Pitt 6-3 USF   4-1   @UConn & WVA 5-5 Pitt    4-2   @WVa 7-2 Lou    3-2   Syr & @UConn 6-4 Rut    3-3   Cin 4-5 UConn 1-4   USF & Lou Kizarvexis
  6. USF had 18 penalties for 137 yards which ties last years OT game with TCU for number of penalties in a game. (As mentioned in another thread) The 137 yards of penalties is tied for 8th on the list of most yards penalized in a game. (17 for 137 @N. Texas 10/5/02.) Cincinnati had 8 for 74 yards. Average so far for the season, including the Cincinnati game. 9.78 for 78.11 yards per game for USF (up 1 penalty and 8 yds per game) 7.33 for 61.67 yards per game for our opponents (up 1 yd per game) USF is comparable to the last two seasons in the penalty department. Here are the last 4 seasons for comparison. 2004 - 9.6 for 82.5 yds per game 2003 - 9.4 for 83 yds per game 2002 - 11.6 for 98.7 yds per game (school record) 2001 - 10 for 88 yds per game Kizarvexis
  7. Announced was 27,204 per the USF game stats. The avg announced attendance is 37, 263. If 16,145 people show up for WVA, then USF will have beaten the avg attendance record for a season. Kizarvexis
  8. The record low for a USF game was 46 degrees at Memphis on 11/29/03. USF won 21-16. USF is 2-0 for games under 50 degrees. So no monkey for 32, because USF hasn't played under 46. Kizarvexis
  9. TV money. The thing the media doesn't talk about when discussing removing the BE autobid. Kizarvexis
  10. I have to agree with the others. To bash Howie for something he said on the radio in defending USF and then turn around and skip one of the more important Bulls games in their history to see some other sport is just hypocrisy. Kizarvexis
  11. The BE only has to have a champ average of 12 or lower (over a 4 yr period) to not have the possibility of getting the BCS autobid reviewed. If the BE or some other league (say the ACC) has an average of over 12, then the auto bid can be reviewed. But I bet my bottom dollar that if the TV networks are happy with that conferences ratings, then the auto bid won't be lost. Everybody in the media keeps forgetting that TV money is what is driving college football. Kizarvexis
  12. Actually when counting out the rankings from last week, USF was #33. Counting them out this week, USF is #39. So even with getting one vote each week, USF dropped 6 places in the poll. Kizarvexis
  13. Computer polls still have a bias because of the GIGO principle. Garbage In, Garbage Out describes the condition that the information that comes out of a program is only as good as the information that you put in. The computer polls use formulas to process what ever stats the poll maker selects to rate the teams. Those stats and the weight he gives them are the bias in the computer poll. Kizarvexis
  14. That makes too much sense and fits very well with how people don't like to be seen as being incorrect on something. Kizarvexis
  15. You have to like a ranking system called Mathematical Monkey Rankings for NCAA Division I-A Football. I did notice that the AP and USA Today polls are not in the fairness ranking. Or did I miss them? Kizarvexis
  16. I think being two games out of phase with everyone else is what hurts USF in the polls. Kizarvexis
  17. BE is above and here is C-USA, both all-time and only while USF was in C-USA. All time vs C-USA 7 C-USA wins in a row, 2001-2003 (Houston, So. Miss, @ECU, Memphis, @Houston, @Army, #26 Louisville) 2 C-USA wins in a row, 2003 (Cincinnati, @ECU) 2 C-USA wins in a row, 2003-2004 (@Memphis, @TCU) 2 C-USA wins in a row, 2004 (@#36/41 UAB, ECU) 1 C-USA win in a row, 2005 (UCF) - Current 3 C-USA losses in a row, 2004 (#32/29 So Miss, Army, #18/15 Louisville) 2 C-USA losses in a row, 2000-2001 (@So. Miss, @Memphis) 2 C-USA losses in a row, 2003 (#17/18 TCU, @So. Miss)2 C-USA losses in a row, 2004 (@Cincinnati, #34 Memphis) 1 C-USA loss in a row, 2003 (UAB) Only while in C-USA 2 C-USA wins in a row, 2003 (@Army, #26 Louisville) 2 C-USA wins in a row, 2003 (Cincinnati, @ECU) 2 C-USA wins in a row, 2003-2004 (@Memphis, @TCU) 2 C-USA wins in a row, 2004 (@#36/41 UAB, ECU) 3 C-USA losses in a row, 2004 (#32/29 So Miss, Army, #18/15 Louisville) 2 C-USA losses in a row, 2003 (#17/18 TCU, @So. Miss)2 C-USA losses in a row, 2004 (@Cincinnati, #34 Memphis) 1 C-USA loss in a row, 2003 (UAB) Kizarvexis
  18. JimUSFSig, you forgot the BE streaks. Current BE streaks 2 BE away wins in a row (Rutgers, Syracuse) 1 BE home wins in a row (#9 Louisville) Inactive 1 BE away losses in a row (Pitt) Kizarvexis
  19. USF had 10 penalties for 81 yards and Syracuse had 6 for 51 yards. Average so far for the season, including the Syracuse game. 8.75 for 70.75 yards per game for USF (up 1 yd per game) 7.25 for 60.13 yards per game for our opponents (down 1 yd per game) USF is still doing well in the penalty department compared to last season. Here are the last 4 seasons for comparison. 2004 - 9.6 for 82.5 yds per game 2003 - 9.4 for 83 yds per game 2002 - 11.6 for 98.7 yds per game (school record) 2001 - 10 for 88 yds per game Kizarvexis
  20. 40,144 according to the Tampa Trib box score. UCFers will claim that it had to be half that based on what they saw on TV. Kizarvexis P.S. That is the most in attendance so far for a BE away game for the Bulls.
  21. Exactly. As much as people complain about margin of victory being in the computer polls, I believe it is even more weighted in the human polls. If your team doesn't win in a fashion that the pollsters think you should, you lose points. TMQ mentioned this in his Nov 2nd column. TMQ archive Kizarvexis
  22. USF will be favored only if they keep winning. Go Bulls! Beat Syracuse! Kizarvexis
  23. From soccertimes.com NCAA Div I scores. I expect it goes to a shootout after that. And no, the USF game is not on that page. Kizarvexis
