  1. I agree. I'm seeing improvement, maybe not in wins yet, but I see them coming. Slower than most want, but what can you really expect when playing in the toughest conference with freshman guards? Ask UConn what it's like with youth. I see the talent getting better.
  2. From the dept of bad examples. Schiano's record at Rutgers: 2001 2-9; 0-7 Big East 2002 1-11; 0-7 Big East 2003 5-7; 2-5 Big East 2004 4-7; 1-5 Big East I wonder how special he would be to USF Darksiders after the first 4 seasons. 2005 7-5; 4-3 Big East 2006 11-2; 5-2 Big East
  3. We were one of those teams in our first ever NCAA appearance. SunBelt Champs!
  4. I think 10am is Mountain time, so he has another hour to decide.
  5. In 8-10 years you can have a wife and kids, and may not be able to take the risk. $36K is nothing. If that scares you, you are not a risk taker. There's nothing wrong with that. If you are an entrpeneur, go out on your own, if not take the stabilityof making someone else wealthy. Also, my wife owns her own recruiting firm, she says it's a bad sign if you have to resign to get a raise. Can create problems down the road as well.
  6. If I had to do something drastic to get a raise, then that company definitely isn't looking out for me. What about next time you deserve a raise? No one is going to look out for you, but you.
  7. I personally don't like working for someone else.  I do because I have to, for now at least.  My wife worked for someone else and made them a lot of money.  We asked ourselves, why are we making someone else rich?  She left and started her own firm and has tripled her salary working only working part-time (Had a baby last year).  She is now working it full time, and I am about to leave my job to join her.  Your current job is similar.  If you can go out and get the business, why share the profit?  Your still young and are not tied down yet.  No wife, no kids. Take a chance.  Don't have any regrets.  If it doesn't work out, I'm positive another company would love to have you.  What do you have to lose? Where would Bill Gates, Donald Trump, etc. be of they didn't take chances and start their own company? I used to work for a guy in Tampa who started his own appraisal company. He made alot of money, invested wisely, and now spends his days working deals on the golf course trying to figure out to spend his $50M plus. You just have to decide if you are a risk taker or not. You can make a good living working for someone else but you don't get wealthy working for someone. What I read on this board from you, you seem like a risk taker, who has what it takes to be successful. Good Luck!
  8. Rivals on Yahoo link Can we change our name to the McBulls? We signed 6 guys whose last name name begins with Mc and now we are already looking at another for next year. Change our name and we are a lock. You think McDonalds will pay USF for naming rights?
  9. They are #56 and USF is #66. Are they doing that well and are we doing that bad? #66 out of 119 is horrible.
  10. I specifically asked him when the first payment would need to be made and he did say July.  But, if that's not the case, I guess we will be making the entire payment before June 30th. I will contact him again to get more info. So I guess if you could wait until July 1st to avoid having to pay this years donation with no benefits?
  11. He was a senior at Sarasota in 2004, played with about 6 other RBs at Hargrove in 2005, did not play anywhere in 2006. The 3 years will be 2004 - 2007 when he gets to play here.
  12. Yep...if you recall Hall's first season it took him a few games until he became the MAN Hall played the two previous seasons in JC, Ford wouldn't been the starter in 3 years.
  13. Don't forget he hasn't played competitve football since the 2005 season at Hargrove where he was one of many RBs who shared carries. I believe there was at least one other back who got significantly more carries than he did as well as 3 or 4 other backs with as many carries as him. He hasn't been the feature back since his senior year in HS in 2004. So by the start of the 2007 season he will have not played in 2 years and will not have been a full time player for 3 years. I assume there will be some rust to work off getting into game shape. He may or may not be a factor in his first season.
  14. It looks like it has been two years since he played in HS? Does that mean he has 2 years in prep school? Does that seem odd to anyone else? What are the chances he makes it grade wise in college?
  15. The main problem is we are averaging almost 20 turnovers a game. More turnovers mean moe easy opportunities for our opponents and fewer shots by our team. I would say the extra turnovers cost us at least a 10-15 point swing every game. Mattis and Buckley are two of the worst on the team in this category. It also doesn't help having two freshman guards.
  16. Missouri St is ranked #23 in Sportsline poll, #27 in both AP & Coaches. Although they did just lose at St Louis 51-50
  17. First I am not a dark sider. I will wait to see how the season plays out. I feel our biggest problem right now is inexperience. 2 freshman guards and 3 transfers who don't have a lot of playing time yet. All that adds up to a ton of turnovers which is hurting us right now. I'll play the wait and see game. As far as the list of candidates, I would prefer a head coach from a midmajor or major school. 3 of your picks are long time assistants but not head coaches. I would hope that we are in a position now where we can go after experienced head coaches instead of taking chances on assistants. Kirk Speraw is an interesting option. I wonder why he has been at UCF so long instead of taking the jump to a higher profile job? He seems to have done a lot with their program.
  18. Are we not doing well recruiting wise? It seems like our class is shaping up to be a stellar nonBCS type of class. We have lots of 2 stars and a few 3 stars while 95% of the BCS teams have quite a few 3 stars and 4 stars. Seems like we are still a cut below the BCS world. Any chance we catch up soon? A few years ago we led all Big East teams in recruiting and we are competitive right now, but if the rest of the conference is beefing up recruiting wise we could get left behind. School TOTAL Commits Commits Commits Avg Stars Points 1 West Virginia 23 0 2 14 2.70 889 2 Pittsburgh 17 0 3 10 2.94 754 3 Syracuse 17 0 1 10 2.59 458 4 Rutgers 15 0 1 8 2.67 342 5 Louisville 10 0 1 8 3.00 312 6 Connecticut 15 0 0 4 2.00 123 7 South Florida 9 0 0 2 2.22 95 8 Cincinnati 5 0 0 1 2.20 20
  19. I wonder how it would over if we had all season ticket pricing to include an extra $50 for a ticket to a bowl game as part of the package? Would it affect the number of season tickets? It would be nice to let all the bowls know that we start every season with 17K presold bowl game tickets.
  20. I voted 3K. We probably had quite a few people who went last year because it was our first bowl ever. Couple that with the fact that Charlotte seems to be a better destination than Birmingham. Also it is Christmas Weekend. I know quite a few alums who went last year but are not going this year. I hope I'm wrong but I am having a hard time believing we will even come close to last years draw.
  21. It said Nicolas intercepted the pass that sealed the OT game back in 2003. Didn't Devon Davis intercept it and then ran out of gas on the return? Maybe I'm mistaken.

  23. I don't recognize any bowl games outside of the BCS bowls.  all others are just money-makers for bigtime corporations.  especiall considering how many 1-A teams get to go to postseason, the big 4 are the only ones that matter I'm sure the kids on the team recognized the Bowl game last year. I'm sure they had a great time, and I'm sure our fans had a great time. I'm also sure the coaches appreciated the extra practice time making a bowl gives a team.
  24. Are tickets free for the exhibition? If not how much?
