  1. OK, many people hate the media; so many people will hate the guy who asked this question of CJL. My question is "Why did Jim Leavitt sink so low by responding this way?" Has he spent too much time watching replay's of Jim Mora, or even worse, idolizing Bill O" Reilly? The reporter was doing his job; Jim Leavitt did a very poor job on Saturday. Is it not the right of fans and reporters to question the tactics of coaches, especially when they coach a poorly played game? http://www.sptimes.com/2004/11/28/Sports/A_coach_in_reporter_s.shtml
  2. Well he did make my new USF license plate while he was in the big house. ;D Maybe Fisher should do a few PSA's geared toward high school kids on the merits of using condoms and/or abstinence.
  3. Tried to but then the head of the FCC Michael Powell declared the Bulls game play as obscene. I burned the evidence of that pathetic game against Memphis. I did not want to pay a multi-million dollar fine for all the indecent plays made by the Bulls. :
  4. Emphasis mine: Huh? The college game is much faster than the college game? The college teams will always have young players. I never heard of a 10-year college veteran. They only have 4 years of eligibility. The young player argument kind of fits into the "no **** Sherlock" category.
  5. It is tough for FAU to get attendance. The main campus is in Boca Raton. They play in Lockhart Stadium, which is in Ft. Lauderdale (unless I am wrong, and they play at Pro Player in N. Dade). FAU has a smaller number of students and alumni. FAU has a serious problem with the commuter image; much worse than the commuter image hoisted on USF. Sports were never important at FAU until Schnelly came along. At one time they had the misguided attempt to push women's BB over all of the men's sports because the team was very good at the time. No disrespect to women's sports, but men's sports generate higher revenue. Build them an on-campus stadium, albeit small one, and they will do fine attendance wise. FAU is not like like USF with its multi-county appeal. FAU is a Boca Raton/Palm Beach school that Broward/Ft. Lauderdale students bregrudgenly commute to for classes. Holding games in anywhere but Boca or Palm Beach will hurt attendance.
  6. I think the big beef against CRM last year was that he took a big broom to the team last year and launched a few key players. The running joke last year was what is the name of the latest walk-on player. Did CRM deserve some of the heat from the fans last year? Probably not, but chasing off that many players with no chance of picking up replacements will discourage even the most rabid fan. And to dispute with smazza, it is harder to build a BBall tradition in FL than it is to build a FBall tradition. I was at USF in the early 90's, and even though the Sun Dome was packed, you did not hear talk about the team outside of the games. Now that USF has FB, I hear talk about the team all the time when I am out and about. I always have people start conversations about USF FB when I wear a USF shirt around town. FL is just nuts about FB. BB is more of a northeast sport.
  7. He has a Superbowl ring. More than most HOF'ers. More than LRS, more than Dan Marino, Dan Fouts, the list goes on. BTW, Redskins lost to the Packers. Big loss. No more WARS!
  8. Umm, the coaches recruit, so if we have less than stellar players, who is to blame? Some guy on the internet? : I started the www.firejimleavitt.com thread after the pathetic loss to Army, but that was a joke. I never checked back on that thread, but I bet you ding-dongs flamed the hell out of each other. If USF replaced JL, then the next guy would want even more cash, and depending on his contract, USF would have to buy out JL remaining years. I say keep JL as coach. However, if he keeps recruiting lousy players, then he will keep hearing complaints from fans and alumni. Ultimately it is his fault, so no crybaby "top picking on my coach" tears allowed.
  9. We need less players who knock up two girlfriends back in high school and then get arrested for non-child support, ala Brian Fisher. We need less players who get stoned in Ybor City with their car parked in the wrong direction, and then have a cloud of smoke billow out of the door when the cops show up. At least back when Jimmy Johnson recruited thugs for his tenure at UM, those thugs would play like animals and win games. We recruit a few two-bit thugs that are mediocre at best, and then get in trouble and do not play at all.
  10. Hey, at least we will not lose next Saturday. ;D Oh, I forgot, we are not playing next Saturday. :
  11. Leavit's comments remind me of some other dope. Yes, we are turning the corner! : http://www.toostupidtobepresident.com/shockwave/turningthecorner.swf http://www.toostupidtobepresident.com/shockwave/turningcorner.htm
  12. because the game against UL is a real beating. Capt. Archer hooks up with a female captain (his old gf). The Vulcan ambasidor gave Archer big kudos at the end of the episode. Well I flipped the picture-in-picture back to the USF - UL game, and there is no joy in Mudville. I have a bad feeling that Bulls fans will not see a happy ending. At least Enterprise had a happy ending, unless [spoiler Alert], you did not like the scene where the Vulcan chick decided to marry some Vulcan dork over Tripp. What does this have to do with USF football? Nothing, except the fact that IMHO, there was something more interesting on at the same time as the start of the game.
  13. Correct. USF is not a dry campus. USF is a wet campus, and I am not talking about the the sororities.
  14. well with the "great" coaching we have, this is the predicition for the rest of the season. Louisville - loss, severe ass-whooping UAB - loss, semi-severe ass-whooping East Carolina - win, but close game Cincinnati - loss, close game Memphis - loss, close game Pittsburgh - loss, severe ass-whooping Then the Big East will call and say: "Oops. We made mistake. We are going to pass on that invatation."
  15. excuses, excuses. USF blew the game. 37,000+ people, record crowd at RJS, homecomming, and USF laid down like Saddam's Republican Guard to the US Army. Pathetic.
  16. He probably told his son to pick a differnent school after the embarrasing loss to Army.
  17. Is losing to Army at home for homecoming in your dream? More like a nightmare to me. Take off your cheerleader skirt and take the beating like a man.
  18. I am all for our team, but they are playing like crap. They played down to TT, and then squeaked one out at TCU. I do not want to even talk about the SC game. If I did a poor job at work, I would hope my boss would tell me. While fans are technically the "boss" of the team, we are stakeholders. If they are playing poorly then it is our job to tell them so they can correct the problems before it gets too late to correct them. That game gave me a stomachache
  19. One of them dropped the batton at the end. I would rather look at them than that dude in the color guard.
  20. It is time for something. Maybe it is time to teach the receivers to catch with their feet. PJ and RB seem to throw a lot of balls at their feet.
  21. Thats why you should trade the SUV in for a Vette. Next time stand up in front of her and break wind in her face. A good beer fart always shuts up complainers. Only if the Bucs leave town
  22. very painful I had a choice between going to the game and getting an enema. I think I made the wrong choice. At least some hot blonde wearing a white mini-skirt walked by durring the 3rd quarter. That was the only thing that got me excited at the game last night.
  23. Take off your tin-foil hat and stop the conspiracy theories. If you apply that logic, then next year the Big East refs will have it in for us because we will be the FNG. Bad calls all around; we just got more of them.
