  1. So 11 playoff spots designated for ~60 of the “Have” programs, and 1 playoff spot designated for the remaining ~75 “Have Nots” programs?
  2. Rooting for college football to get bud lighted this fall. A 25% haircut in overall interest might change some minds in the C suites.
  3. Imagine the rug pull that would be…backing out of the OCS that is. It does feel like a Hail Mary at this point so I wouldn’t be shocked based on what appears to be happening in CFB.
  4. Yes, definitely the fans fault for having a bare minimum level of expectations. Nailed it.
  5. “Them” = 90% of fans. There’s not enough of the group who doesn’t care to fill that proposed stadium.
  6. Yeah, it’s not new but the mainstreaming of it is completely antithetical to the draw of college football. After more than a decade we are uncommitted on season tickets. It’s as much due to what I see as the corruption of college football in general as it is the current state of USF football.
  7. Fake and corrupt, just like most other institutions now.
  8. No not bait. Just seems about as weak as you can get making excuses about why USF is somehow above playing UCF. Yes their fans are obnoxious but I’m betting a fair share of USF fans were equally obnoxious when USF ran up to #2 in the polls and was owning UCF annually. Now because UCF is eating USFs lunch some of you want to take your ball and go home. Like I said it’s not a good look.
  9. Not getting the anti-USF v UCF series sentiment. They are our most organic rival.
  10. Significantly better than last years IMO. If some of the graphic design kids could manipulate the “Bulls” to form a bulls face, they might have something here.
  11. Plays while showing a video montage of USF awesomeness which concludes with a bull blowing smoke from its nostrils while smoke machines pump smoke throughout the stadium with green lights strobing.
  12. Don’t forget the Tik tok dance/selfie booths. On second thought, seats with actual butts in them works just fine.
  13. Ditto. Didn’t listen to the interview but I would have rather heard a mea culpa.
  14. That there’s actually a compelling reason to watch my alma mater and continue going to games played against recognizable competition.
  15. I have a degree as well and would love nothing more than to reap some sweet benefit but I’m not holding my breath. In my 2 decades of work in corporate America, the words “AAU membership” have never been spoken, nor does anyone ask or actually care about collegiate schooling. Actually, now that we are discussing it, I can think of very few examples of college/alumni talk in the office being about anything other than sports.
  16. Wow that actually is truly bizarre. No lie, I literally had a remark about usf fans being at the delusional stage of fan starvation in my original comment but ended up editing it out prior to posting. Needless to say, I agree.
  17. I feel like I’m in bizarro world reading some of these responses. How can half of the folks on this athletics forum think an AAU membership is better than being football relevant again?
  18. Yep thats the model USF needs to follow to help fill seats. It would certainly encourage attendance even in bad seasons and make games a viable family outing again. When there’s a waiting list for season tickets then they can then think about dialing up the profits.
  19. Unless there’s a near miraculous turnaround in the next few seasons, not sure how much ability USF actually has to set pricing. Would think the laws of supply and demand would keep prices in check.
  20. No one is using that metric to make any decisions because it’s not a serious stat. That’s the point. U of Cincinnati: season ticket holders = ~22k (2021); 2022 “attendance” = 28.4k USF: season ticket holders = ~15k (2019); 2022 “attendance” = 29.6k If it were, we’d be building more than a 35k seat stadium.
  21. The answer is yes only in a world where “attendance” is redefined as tickets dispersed, not a count of those actually attending a game. In that world, the teams that play in the biggest stadiums can always claim to have the most attendance because they have the ability to give away the most tickets regardless of how many fans actually attend.
