You are making the assumption that all players make good coaches. I've worked in sales all my life and can tell you from experience that all sales people do not make good managers, and all managers do not make good sales people.

Black Americans make up approximately 12% of the US population. From your numbers, black coaches make up approximately 10% FBS head coaches so there's a little room for improvement in that department.

I really appreciate the open dialogue and civil conversation. I guess the part that I have a hard time with, would be correcting wrongdoings or fixing a problem that I had no hand in creating. It's almost like I should feel guilty for what previous white men have done in society when most of us are so far removed from what has happened to various ethnic groups in the past. Although I grew up in a predominantly white neighborhood, my family was not immune to many of the problems within society today, divorce, drug abuse, financial distress, etc. I lost my brother to drug abuse. I'm of the standpoint that we need to let bygones be bygones and move forward and stop looking in the past. We're all human beings and moving forward is the only true path to progress.

I'm not the one that created an all white coaching staff thread when the coaching staff hasn't even been completed. Furthermore, the coaching staff does have people of color. You're just refusing to acknowledge it because it doesn't jive with your agenda and devisive rhetoric.

The United States is still the best place in the world for different ethnic groups to thrive. Is it perfect? No. But it's still the best place in the world to make something out of nothing. Immigrants line up at our border because of the American dream. Try going to China, Japan, etc. as a white or black person and finding success in society. Good luck.

I can see where you're coming from, but unfortunately I have a hard time seeing life through that lens. Colorado University, the PWI of all PWIs... I just visited their fan forum website and a thread about the skin color of the coaching staff doesn't exist. Take DS out of the equation, insert black coaching staff names here, would a thread like this still exist here? I truly believe it would not. To me, discrimination is discrimination. Yes, there is more baggage with the black community and the history of this country. That said, we can't say it matters more for the black community versus X community because then we're just fostering the same ideals that got us here to begin with. Diversification for the sake of diversification is counterprotective towards the goals of any organization. If we could find a female, lesbian, person of color, and she can go 12-0 I'm all for it. I really don't think it matters to most bull's fans. There are a lot of blanket statements and assumptions about racism and this coaching staff that seem to be completely unfounded at this point in time. Have the hires at this point been mostly white, yes, and what's the point of pointing that out, just to get things riled up? It's a little upsetting to be completely honest. All we want are results on the field at this point and the coaching staff hasn't had a chance to show anything and accusations are already being made.

I agree with most of what you said... I just feel the op pulled out the race card prematurely. The final staff isn't even assembled, so let's all pump the brakes before making accusations about the coaching staff and its whiteness. And to play devil's advocate and echo what others have said: let's say we hire Deion and most of the staff was black, this thread or one like it wouldn't exist. Which brings up the issue of reverse discrimination towards a predominantly white coaching staff. I don't care if the coaching staff is made up of unicorns and elves, just win for the love of God! Go Bulls!
