The second the fans voluntered to pay the players with NIL , it opened the flood gates to get bigger tv contracts for power conferences. The conferences and NCAA realized why share our profits when the fans are dumb enough to pay the players that the NCAA and universities profit off with tv contracts, ticket sales, and merchandise. It was the wolf disguised in sheeps clothing and it killed college football and college sports as we know it. Now it has gone even further and they are paying high school athletes in some states and some states including Florida want to put in in the state house to vote on.

Sometimes losing to a team you should beat is what it takes to grow into a champion. Look at the lightning lose to the Bluejackets in the first round as as the top seed and favorite and then use it was motivation win back to back cups. It is all about how the staff and players respond to losing and adversity .

I have no idea. We beat them head to head, won the season championship, and have a better record. The only thing i can think of is based on their results from last season. Why i think the conference touranments are dumb. Just have one play two in each conference and be done with it.

Losing warriors like them like them did hurt to some degree. Should have kept Maroon and Perry instead of signing Watson and Sheary. You forgot Perry , McD, Gourde, Goodrow, and Coleman. All were warriors on the ice willing to sacrifice everything to win. Stamkos is pretty much a one trick pony thse days, but having him playing with a higher offensive IQ player like Duclair versus Cirelli and Paul really helps him. HE doesn't have skate with the puck as much, Duclair will go to the dirty areas to get the puck, and feed stamkos the puck to shoot. If Sheary stays out injured even though he was finally looking okay. We should call up Gonglaves we are better off in my opinion. Guy brings it every shift.

Duclair really brought some life to the top 6 and depth scoring. He really has made Stamkos much better with his speed and tenacity. Dumba is an upgrade to our defense, but that isn't hard to do these days. Vasi is gaining his playoff form based on the last few games against cup contenders.

Well put It sucks we lost and won't make the tournament unless crazy happens. The good news is USF Football and Men's Basketball had the best turnaround in the country for any FBS athletics program. Now we need to keep moving forward and not backwards. Time to put in the work to be champions and elevate our game.

I would assume it is just whether the ref wants to call it a flagrant or intentional foul. Before hockey ended checks to the head with shoulder contact or hits from behind, they would give guys extra minutes at their discretion to call it, if at all, two minutes, four minutes, or a five-minute major based on what they thought the intent was. I heard a lot of adult words from the coaches going after the refs growing up in travel hockey based on what they didn't call a two-minute, four-minute, or five-minute major when it was all a gray area at the refs discretion. I don't think it is a good idea in any sport to allow the refs to determine what level of a foul or penalty it is at their discretion, because the rule books should clearly state what the different levels of penalties are for such flagrant or intentional behavior in this case. If a player agressively throws their shoulder into a guy to get the basketball, it could be labeled a flagrant or intentional foul up to the ref.

Not wrong. I don't watch much basketball anymore. I only started watching again with the bulls this year. The NBA game in unwatchable these days they flop around and fake getting hurt worse than professional Soccer. The refs were bad yesterday, but we didn't do enough to win the game. You are right several sports try to slow the sport down and get physical at the end such as hockey and football. I loved the 90s and early 2000s basketball where they actually let them play ball and fight for the ball . I don't know how to fix the NBA because it has gone too far, but they could make simple changes to the foul rules in college.

We are stuck in the aac until we start beating top 25 football teams again and actually win some conference championships. Basketball making some tournament runs could help, but the power deals all about TV views for football.

They got non tv contract revenue, but it seems they get the CFP conference revenue money starting after next season based on the articles posted here going forward with the p2 and the p3/4 divide. We would have to actually read the legal contract and have a lawyer interpret it. The ticket sales alone would make the difference.
