This week the Bulls will have a mid-week match up against a tough Stetson team, followed by a weekend series against AAC foe, ECU. Stetson Dropped the Bulls in their earlier match up by a score of 5-3. They are set to go on Tuesday ECU will come in this weekend ranked in the top ten in most polls. They are current second in the conference and have won 6 of their last 8. Tough week up ahead, I love the Bulls but we are definitely the underdog here. Really need to pull an upset this weekend. Finding a way to be .500 this week would be an achievement as well. To say Devin Leacock won a state championship and broke a record along the way doesn’t do him justice or put his feat in perspective. What the senior from Port Charlotte High did Saturday at the FHSAA Class 2A State Weightlifting Championships was more in the realm of annihilation than it was one guy being stronger than the other guys. Competing in heavyweight class, Leacock crushed the previous state record, as well as the rest of the competition. The 6-3, 270-pounder hoisted a total of 880 pounds, a stunning 50 pounds more than the previous record of 830, to claim a gold medal on the campus of Arnold High School in Panama City Beach.
