  1. Exactly, even Greg Ward was in the conversation and I think got as high as #6 in ESPN's Heisman watchlist a couple weeks into the season.
  2. 24/41 361yds 4TD 1int 17car 88yds Sign me up for that every week..
  3. Actually, we could've lost to Navy and someone else and still be ahead of Temple via tiebreaker...god **** that loss screwed us. In terms of conference championship hopes, that really was possibly the most important game we've ever played and we **** the bed in an epic way..
  4. No it was a hundred times worse that we lost to Temple. If we would've beat Temple, we could've lost to Navy and still been ahead of Temple in the standings.
  5. I honestly don't think Navy is anything special. People like to overreact to a big win and forget the fact that they got handled by Air Force and had a very rough time with a bad Tulane team and a UConn team that quite frankly isn't very good either. Their scheme makes them a threat to upset almost anyone given the right circumstances, but at the same time, they just don't even come close to matching up with us or Houston talent-wise. If they played Houston 10 times, they'd probably lose 8 or 9 of them.
  6. And here's what they have for probabilities for each remaining reg. season game: @ Temple 67.7% Navy 84.8% @ Memphis 62.6% @ SMU 87.2% UCF 85.7%
  7. ESPN FPI currently has us at: 80% to win the East. 46% to win the conf champ 27% to win the rest of regular season games 14% to win rest of regular season games and conf. champ game Still have a lonnnnnng way to go
  8. Here's who we need to root for in all the relevant games: Kansas +24(Yikes) vs Ok St UVA +9.5 vs 22 UNC Stanford -2 vs Colorado (even though there's still a chance Stanford could sneak back in with a win) E. Mich +23.5 @ 20 W Mich Memphis -2.5 @ 24 Navy (Although it's probably better for SoS if Navy wins and is ranked next week) UCLA -7 vs 19 Utah 17 Arkansas +10 @ 21 Auburn 23 Ole Miss @ 25 LSU -6.5 (Loser is out) Arizona St +7.5 vs Wash St
  9. i think if we win we'll be in 23-25 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll and 26-28 in the AP.
  10. Yeah, Kentucky is the one I'm really worried about. Part of me thinks he's as good as gone if/when they offer him, but part of me thinks he'll look at everyone who's coming back next year and realize he could give it one more go here and put himself in an even better position for a more prominent offer.
  11. In that scenario, Houston wouldn't be eligible for the G5 spot because you have to win your conference. The G5 bowl spot goes to the highest ranked G5 conference champion. So it would be down to us and Boise. A one loss USF team would get in over undefeated WMU but probably not an undefeated Boise. We definitely would get the nod over them if they lost a game along the way though.
  12. So are they not having the names on the back of these like last year? If so, I don't really understand that...
  13. This is one thing that I don't think people realize when they say "OMG our defense is so miserable." Who cares how many yards you give up, as long us you're limiting the amount of points the other team scores, that's all that matters. Our yardage against numbers look so bad because we've played teams like Cuse, ECU, and Cincy who all run a super up tempo offense with a ridiculous amount of plays in a given game. Although this clearly isn't one of the better defensive squads we've seen over the years, I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as people are making it out to be. You're obviously gonna give up more yardage against a team that runs a play every 15 seconds.
  14. I think he meant they'll have to lose another one besides us. If both Navy and Houston only have one conference loss, Navy will be in the CCG by way of head to head tiebreaker. That being said, I honestly don't think Navy is that great of a team, and I think they'll drop one or two other games besides us.
  15. I think vegas is basically saying that the Houston game was more of a one time outlier than anything else. People always like to overreact to what they've seen most recently. If you've watched Navy at all this year, they haven't been anything special by any means, and pretty much all of the computer rankings and metrics don't have them anywhere near the top 25. They only beat Uconn by 4, and Tulane by 7, and lost to Air Force.
  16. I feel like I say the same thing before almost every single game. I think the miserableness we suffered through for the last few years has made it almost impossible for us to see how good we really are and to be as optimistic as we should be. This team's talent level really is so far above and beyond the competition we play week in and week out (besides FSU). There's a reason why we've covered the last 7 times we've been favored.
