  1. If something stupid happens and Willie does leave this year I think there's about a 99.9% chance that Mack is gone. I feel like that's the determining factor with him. Flowers, no chance.
  2. This may be a short sighted view, but I think capitalizing on our opportunity to do amazing things next year should be our number one priority, and I think Kiffin would be perfect for that. I think he'd be able to step in and allow the offense to flourish. He wouldn't be here for more than 2 or 3 years, but if he can transition smoothly and go 11-1/12-0 with a conf. champ and a Peach bowl birth next year, I'll gladly help him pack his bags on the way out. I just still feel like he thinks way too highly of himself to ever come here.
  3. Here's the way I see it now. The games that would have an effect on our ranking are listed below. Bold team is who I think we should be rooting for. Houston vs San Diego St (Honestly not sure, both teams could sneak in with a win.) Memphis vs WKU Wake Forest vs Temple (Although I'd like to see Temple keep rolling to make the conference look better) Minnesota vs Wash St (Another one where either could sneak in) Baylor vs Boise St Northwestern vs Pitt WVU vs Miami (Only because I think Miami moves back in if they win and WVU wouldn't fall all the way out with a loss) Indiana vs Utah A&M vs K State (Not really sure again as either could sneak in with a win) Arkansas vs Va Tech UNC vs Stanford (Winner most likely ranked, loser will be out) Nebraska vs Tennessee (same with above) Louisville vs LSU (I would hope that one final loss would bounce LSU but who really knows at this point) Iowa vs Florida (winner in, loser out)

  5. It'd be an awesome short-term move, as he would give us the best opportunity to dominate next year. But he wouldn't be here longer than 2 or 3 years tops. I just feel like Kiffin probably thinks way too highly of himself to ever take the USF job.
  6. From what I've seen, Birmingham isn't bad at all. You can fly round trip on southwest for less than $300. Baltimore, looks like it's gonna be way more expensive
  7. In our current situation (crappy conference, terrible fan support/attendance, miserable tv deal) we will never be able to pay a coach 3-4 mill a year. It's just the cold hard truth.
  8. It sucks, but there truly are a ton of awesome receivers in this conference. Not all of them can be recognized. It would be awesome to see the numbers he would put up in a more pass heavy offense like Memphis' or ECU's.
  9. Well since you keep thinking he would take the Purdue job if offered, I'd like just point out that their last coach was only making 300k more a year than Taggart currently is...
  10. This. Do i think Willie would excel @ Oregon if given the chance? Yes, absolutely. But he's not what they're looking for. It's been reported that Phil Knight is willing to go as high as 10 mill a year to lure a big name in. The dude has unlimited money and is getting older. He's 78 and wants to see a National Champ before his time is up. I doubt he sees Willie giving them the best shot to do that.
  11. Everybody needs to just take a deep breath and relax. He's not going anywhere this year unless schools like ND, Tenn, A&M pull the trigger. Next year is a different story. Possible openings next year: ND, Tenn, A&M, UCLA, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss St, Arizona, Texas Tech, Missouri. He'd be in a much better position if he stays one more year. The only way I think he leaves this year is if someone like Fedora, Mullen, or Holgerson takes the Oregon job. But like i said, if ND, Tenn, or A&M stir up the pot some more, all bets are off.
  12. he doesn't have an offer from oregon.....just because his named was mentioned as a possible candidate doesn't mean anything
  13. NFL scouts couldn't care less where you went to school. They value talent where they see it. The second overall pick in last years draft went to an FCS school. He'll get drafted in the 4th-5th round because of his talent level. If you wanna say that running out of Usf's offense doesn't really demonstrate how he would do in a traditional pro style offense, you could make that argument. It also doesn't help him that he tends to run a little taller than you'd probably like to see, and he doesn't really get to display any pass blocking skills in our offense either.
  14. He's not gonna be a top 5 back in this draft, maybe next year. Which is another reason to come back. I follow a lot of draft rankings and I have yet to see him any higher than the 4th round.
  15. He's saying Navy would go to the Cotton Bowl if they win and WMU loses this weekend. We're no longer eligible for the Cotton Bowl.
  16. No chance in hell Temple would beat UF or FSU 8 times out of 10. They would be lucky to beat them once.
