  1. Wow that looks like a winning season every year, while skyrocketing up the conference ladder unlike any team has ever done before. Was this meant to brag about his accomplishments, and how under his leadership, we never felt what it was like to be a bad team? Almost like, he had a deep tradition of winning??
  2. Under Leavitt, USF objectively had a deep tradition of winning. The only bad years of USF football have come outside of Leavitt. If you want to point out the history of USF losing, never mention Leavitt's name again. You can mention Holtz, Strong, Scott, and anybody involved in Leavitts firing. Thank you.
  3. I gave up watching in 3rd quarter when the punt play resulted in a safety. At that point I realized, it's not BYU. It's USF, and we suck again
  4. One issue that is unique to USF at RJS is that we play in a sea of red... it's big and ugly and hot and doesn't match our colors. The pirate ship cheers on ECU more than the bulls. Houston looks at home here. Miami has similar colors at their nfl stadium.
  5. I agree. I'd rather the loose cannon of energy for a coach than a squeaky clean wooden plank "attaboy" coach. Some people don't seem to comprehend what kind of passion the sport of football takes, and that we shouldn't be looking for a PR guy... but i guess college elites want "yes" men
  6. 1. not a kid 2. sure 3. contracted adults both striking someone is a fair equivalency (understanding the status of the victim is a student in USF's case) 4. great things, not just good. he was by far the best coach for the job. I guess the only question I have for you is why is a full season's suspension not adequate? I think that is a clear message of internal discipline, without acting like this is some kind of villainous action that society will not tolerate. The point of bringing up Donald (who we should be able to agree was MORE violent than Leavitt) was to demonstrate that slapping in the context of football is not something people can't forgive. Why is your conclusion for him to be an eternal outcast who cannot continue his legendary journey as our first and only football coach??
  7. All USF had to do was suspend him for a few games. Aaron Donald isn't even being punished for taking his helmet and doing much worse than anything Jim ever did. This is a game where players bash heads endlessly every day, and you think a slap is unforgivable, despite no camera evidence for context. Just hearing about a slap, and you want him gone?? When you ask me what Jim ever did after USF, I really start to question what you are trying to imply by that. His resume at USF is fantastic. Why should he be excited to keep coaching after having HIS team ripped away by petty people? Are you trying to say he was not a fantastic coach here??? Or that he was losing his energy? That's silly...
  8. Nailed it. Having a dj playing loud music during the 2 hour delay?? I can't think of a better way to take my teams mind off the game. They look lost on the field... should have been talking over any plans. Professionalism guys
  9. I think the point of bringing up Leavitt is to really rub it in the faces of those being dead wrong that he was "plateauing". It is comical to watch people being in such denial of something so obvious despite all evidence. It reminds me of people who still hold on to the idea of cloth masks working.. they can't handle the idea of being wrong so they still wear them. The people who wanted Leavitt gone ruined this program, and we want them to admit it.
  10. The addition of Gerry Bohanon has me hyped about this year's possibilities. The guy has an incredible highlight tape at Baylor, much more than anything we saw from Blake Barnett (the last big school transfer). That alone can propel this team to respectability, which is a bowl game at minimum.
  11. Under the conditions of losing every game and getting NOTHING going, you MUST make a change. Find the gamer on your team and give them the chance under the bright lights. I don't think there is any benefit to continue doing something that isn't working after multiple games.
  12. I think its mutually benefitting for both schools to work out a deal that keeps this rivalry up. This has been the most exciting REGULAR season game of the year for both teams for almost 2 decades now. Sure, UCF has more leverage in negotiation due to being in the Big 12. I don't know what we'd have to offer to keep the rivalry, but I think its important we do what we can REASONABLY get a deal in scheduling. We both can make room. Its better than your other game for both squads.
  13. Its easy to say this before the season starts, but If we lose 4 games in a row with poor qb play, I strongly disagree with trying to plug a square peg into a round hole. This is what keeps happening, and is why we play musical chairs. If Timmy isn't the guy, try someone else. I can only agree with the clear starter thing if we are winning some games... Which we have failed to do for quite some time.
  14. Fire Michael Kelly I'm over this guy. This is unacceptable.
  15. So lets just assume he fixes his footwork, accuracy, decision making, and reading defenses in one off season. I made my comment because many act like its a given that he will improve to be an elite college QB. I just have my doubts. He is athletic, but he isn't even close to putting it all together. He's the worst AAC QB until he isn't.
  16. I agree Timmy will get better, but I think blaming the o line for his struggles last year is a stretch. Too many throws where he doesn't set his feet. I called it before the NFL year that the Cardinals were going to be amazing because Kyler Murray is a fantastic runner who reads the defense while he scrambles and sets his feet. Timmy LOOKS like he's playing hero ball all game. Like it's a video game to him. He must get better at reading defenses and work on being much more accurate, which are not easily fixable. While Flowers had issues with accuracy, I never saw him as reckless with the ball, and he seemed to put more effort in his footwork. I like Timmy, but it's not a given that he progresses I agree Timmy will get better, but I think blaming the o line for his struggles last year is a stretch. 17. If I wanted to hang around good people, I'd go to church. This isn't make a wish foundation man, what are you talking about??
  18. It really shows how bad some NFL teams are. They have no clue
  19. I'd respect it. Tell the team he isn't taking it off until we win a game!
  20. USF needs to forget about Scott's contract and splurge on this DC hire. Get a new OC while they are at it. You're next Scott. Spend wisely.
  21. I'm going to be a contrarian (I'm really not trying to be, but I disagree with takes on this board often) and say that this is a non issue. Jeff Scott clearly got into football from his dad. He has been around football his whole life because of his dad. If the man is comfortable around his dad, then I don't see why its a problem. If you don't like it, then you don't like Jeff Scott. He has to find his way somehow. Being a Jim supporter, I clearly have no issue with unconventional methods. Just win baby!
  22. You're discussing in bad faith because we both know why he didn't get a new HC job, and you refuse to address any instance of him performing poor as a coach
