  1. If I were asked to bet on which is more likely, A) Leavitt comes back at some capacity, or B) we have a winning season next year, I think I'd bet on A
  2. Trust me, I wish this wasn't reality, but it is. We should learn the lesson of knowing what is good when we have good. We got too greedy. We would do well to learn the lessons of the past. Well said. I'd fire CJS today if we could get CWT back. Same as I would Leavitt. Pure speculation. He has always been a great coach and you have no idea what coach would do if we gave him his rightful opportunity again.
  3. By the way, I feel to a much lesser extent an attachment to CWT as well. I'm pretty sure I would've taken him over CJS when that decision was going on. I didn't know it was controversial to like former coaches who did good things at USF... Is someone going to act like CWT was a horrible coach too because he didn't win a championship? It was happening, he just needed more time, like CJL. Obviously Willie didn't put in the time here like Jim, but Willie should always be welcome here. It's weird that half this 'fan' base is allergic to praising our greats....
  4. These CJL hater takes are just bad. You can call it bitter or whatever, the fact is that people who expected more than what he gave are d.e.l.u.s.i.o.n.a.l. And move on to what? The university isn't even competitive. If we had even a 6-6 record, CJL probably wouldn't be brought up. But since this university can't get anything going, it is important to remind the CJL haters that you were flat out wrong, objectively. That he was doing something special. I'm really amazed that after seeing what happened with the program that it's even a debate if CJL did well, that's MY issue.
  5. His performance here speaks for itself. I don't think you have anything on him being a bad coach.
  6. Piss and moan until we get Jim Leavitt back. That's what I do.
  7. He is such an awesome player. I hope he gets an NFL look. He deserves it
  8. Interesting. I do not trust CJS right now. I said before the UCF game, if we got blown out, we needed to fire him. We were 7 yards away from a win. While I can tolerate keeping him, (though if I am athletic director I hire Jim of course) expecting him to get 6 wins next year doesn't even seem realistic. 5 seems a much more manageable goal. I know the difference between 5 and 6 is minimal, but this is a minimal team. I definitely don't see "too much" here as you put it.
  9. Timmy is so fast, he caused two UCF players to smack each other so hard! That was a pleasure to see
  10. Only 3 more minutes until next year. I'm going to enjoy it with optimism. We can win this!!
  11. I just don't see any progress, and the people that say they do are lying to themselves, or have dangerously low expectations.
  12. I agree with continuity. That's why I hate people who called for Leavitt's head. I was fine with 7-8 wins a year because he brought passion and every game felt winnable. Obviously we can't change the past, and here we are with Jeff Scott with a terrible team at the end of his second year. We have maybe 4 FBS caliber players with Weaver, Battie, and a couple LBs. We have a young freshman QB with potential, but is still the worst or near worst QB in the AAC at the moment. My question is why is that the best we have at the end of his year 2? Why does 1-9 Tulane make us look FCS? Where is the talent? Where is the recruiting? Transfers please? We have no secondary players from FLORIDA?? I get it, you want to be hopeful. Me too. This guy is probably not it. I say check out this UCF game. If USF is even competitive, you can convince me it's a good move to keep him. If we get blown out by over 15-20 again, I don't think we can afford to keep him.
  13. My 2 cents on the McClain or Fortin discussion.... McClain has more potential, and that is probably why many would prefer him to start. He runs better, can throw further, all the tools of a good QB. Fortin has had a rough go of it since coming to USF. He keeps getting hurt. When he does get his chance, he is in over his head. However, if the game went on for a 5th and 6th quarter, I would 100% feel better about playing Fortin the rest of the way given how bad Timmy looked. Timmy seemed careless with his throws, as if the main priority of a QB is to juke out a Dlineman. There seemed to be no focus of what might happen pre play. I have no idea if Fortin might be anything, but I am not sure how the panic button hasn't been pressed on this QB situation. Which means we try out all our options. The only credit I give to coach Scott yesterday was giving Fortin a shot. All this being said, I would still likely start McClain vs UCF. We need his upside to win most likely. But I'd give a slightly shorter leash than your average starter.
  14. I think you mean we need CJL back. If that is what you are saying, I am ready to buy season tickets until the day I die. This university seems to care more about being lame than winning. He slapped a player?? THEY HIT EACH OTHER ALL DAY. Wake up and get some spunk back. This isn't a soft city, and we don't deserve this SOFT program. I just want passion. BRING BACK JIM.
  15. I think we fire him, but some on the board seem to think 1 FBS win in 2 years is enough.
  16. Fortin is doing the bare minimum required to make things interesting in the QB battle. We still need to see him make throws to be considered for starting at UCF
  17. I'm not a McClain hater. I think he has a ton of potential, but he is a Freshman, and he is clearly not there right now today. He very obviously looks lost right now. We have seen him at times be really good. This is not that day. Hopefully we can get Fortin a 4 second pocket to make a throw here
  18. The play calling for his set was pretty bad too. I would have liked to seem them spread it out and let him make a read throw. You act like McClain has done ANYTHING this game, why would you insist on keeping him out there? What has he done at all today that is positive? Nothing. He has missed basically every throw, correct?
  19. I called for Fortin to be put in the game. I'm glad Scott made the switch. That 3rd down play the screen got blown up, and Fortin threw the ball away before pressure even got to him....
  20. This comment hasn't aged well at all. I'm sure you wouldn't have said this if you had seen the Tulane game
