Providence, R.I. (April 28, 2014) –Jimmy Herget was once again recognized by the American Athletic Conference for his outstanding performance last week being named to the Weekly Honor Roll it was announced Monday afternoon. It is the fifth time this season he has been a part of the Weekly Honor Roll.

Herget’s impressive sophomore campaign continue Friday night as he tossed his first complete game of the season as USF defeated Memphis, 3-1. The right-hander scattered seven hits allowing only one run. He didn’t issue a walk and struck out seven. Herget set down at least six batters in a row twice during the ballgame.

Herget was joined on the team by Kyle Funkhouser of Louisville, Justin Montemaryor of Houston, Brian Ward of UConn and Eric Skoglund of UCF. Danny Rosenbaum of Louisville was named the Player of the Week while Connor Walsh of Cincinnati earned Pitcher of the Week honors.

USF is off today but returns to the diamond tomorrow when they host UNF at the USF Baseball Stadium. The two sides met during the first weekend of the year with the Bulls pulling out a 12-1 victory. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
