I would take Bill Russell and his 11 champ rings first but I dont think he was greatest ever.  Mike is still the best ever though this kid LeBron will dethrone him if he has his head on straight for the next couple decades.

MJ is the consummate "money" player. He could always hit the clutch shot when the game was on the line...going back to UNC winning the NC.

It takes more than statistics or ability to be labeled the greatest...that title can only be held by someone who can rise to every occasion.

I agree to a point Markey. Bill Russell played 13 years in NBA and won 11 championships. The last one he won as a player/coach. Tough to count him out as greatest money player. He also won a couple of NCAA titles and a gold medal.  To think he was drafted by St Louis Hawks. Has been all down hill for the Hawks franchise after trading him away.
