Florida Today: USF's Daniels puts winning above all else

With each drop back, each ball coming out of the backfield and into the hands of a waiting receiver, those around the Bulls' practice field at the Vero Beach Sports Complex watched in approval.

Especially when B.J. Daniels had the ball in his hands.

Flip. A 10-yard out here.

Zip. A 15-yarder over the middle.

Zoom. A 30-yarder down the right sideline.

Flip, zip, zoom. Over and over and over necks stretched toward the sky as one pass after another looked close to perfect.

Of course, it’s easy right now to think you are Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. On Monday, the fire becomes a little more real when USF scrimmages for the first time. Then comes the regular season in September.

But right now, you have to ponder … is B.J. Daniels the best college quarterback in the Sunshine State? That could very well be true. E.J. Manuel at FSU certainly is right there with him — and the two could answer that question for everyone a few games into the season when the Seminoles visit Tampa.

I was shocked to see this story in the Florida Today. It just goes to show that USF is shifting from just being known and talked about in Tampa, to all over Florida.

When they are not discussing FSU and UF, they have a ton of UCF articles since they are near by. Nice to see us chip away at that.
