The guy was playing basketball not jumping off cliffs or skydiving without a parachute.  The guy could get hurt lifting weights or jogging on a treadmill and that would be ok?

If it was in his contract not to play Basketball, then they are within their rights no to pay him, but, much like Jay Williams with the Bulls, I bet they do.  George might be a business man, but i doubt he will try to screw the guy that beat the Sox with a walk-off home run in the ALCS.

I think George will try and screw the guy cuz I think George enjoys that.  I think back a few years ago when super rookie RB Robert Edwards had a very serious knee injury in a flag football game sponsered by NFL on beaches in Hawaii during pro bowl week. Pats did not have to pay this guy after that injury but Robert Kraft paid off the guys whole contract. Edwards made a comeback with Dolphins a couple years after the injury but is not even close to old player.  Yanks will probably make a run at Arod now and move Jeter to third? That would be the worst thing I could imagine so there it is.

Maybe the Yanks will just buyout all the major league teams... that way they automatically get the W.S. Title.

Didnt there payroll number from last year equal the total of like 5 clubs put together?  If you cant beat em buy em.
