The Bulls would not look back shooting 41.7 percent (15-36) from the field as it went out to a game-high 17-point lead (26-9) on a lay up by ChiChi Okpaleke (Tampa, FL) with 9:38 left in the first half. During the first 20 minutes USF would force Tulane into 14 of their 21 turnovers. The Green Wave, however, would use an 8-0 run to open the second half to tie the game at 35 apiece and make the contest a whole new ball game.Tulane would stay close in back of the inside play of Lakethia Hampton who scored 13 of her 19 points in the final half. The Green Wave would tie the game on several occasions, and eventually take a two-point lead (44-42) on a lay up by D’Aundra Henry with 12:40 left in the contest, but could not close out the game.USF would go 5-8 from the free throw line in the final minute to ice the win.Jessica Dickson (Ocala, FL) paced the way with a game-high 20 points – her third in her last four games – while Anedra Gilmore (Jacksonville, FL) added nine points and a game-high seven assists. The Bulls will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 13 when they travel to Hattiesburg, MS to face Southern Miss. Lets hope for a strong finish to get that possible NCAA bid. If not, at least we should get another WNIT banner to hang in the SUNDOME this year. GO BULLS!!!
