Unsurprisingly, Syracuse tops it.

Storyline

Gunning For Syracuse

A lot has changed at the top of the Big East since the idea went from a nebulous dream to a reality. Georgetown has missed two consecutive postseasons while Syracuse has won two consecutive national titles. The idea of the conference being a two-headed monster chased by up-and-comers with varying degrees of historical success has been replaced by the idea that the Big East is Syracuse and a handful of teams trying to unseat the presumptive champions.

Notre Dame has built a reputation for being a tough out in the NCAA Tournament and, as a program, has a “take on all challengers†mentality. Georgetown still overflows with talent and St. John’s and Villanova come off years in which they scored big upsets. Rutgers and Providence are headed in the right direction and looking to score such upsets this year. Whoever can get the better of the Orange will likely be the story of the season.
