QB Jeffrey Godfrey, RB Brandon Gainer and WR Joshua Reese from Miami Central. All three juniors were named to the second team in class 6-A.

From CaneSport...USF leads because they have also offered teammates Brandon Gainer and Joshua Reese...Miami is a close second but has not offered Gainer or Reese and the three would like to go to school together.

Local WR waiting on Miami

February 18, 2009 8:04 pm

Miami Central High School WR Joshua Reese already lists offers from Florida State, USF, UCF, Tennessee and FIU.

But his home town team, Miami, hasn't been recruiting him hard.

He hopes that changes soon.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder who finished his junior year with 42 receptions for 793 yards and 10 touchdowns says "I've been waiting on Miami. If they do offer, it would be something I would think about because I grew up liking that team. That's been my favorite team always."

Reese says he is open to all colleges right now.

And he says he talks with two other highly recruited teammates, Brandon Gainer and Jeffrey Godfrey, about going to the same college together.

"We most likely will do that," Reese said. "We think of it as that happening, but whatever happens happens. We have to go to the best place we have to go and get playing time. But right now that's what we're thinking about doing."

Reese says he was compared to Marvin Harrison when he wore No. 88 in his final Optimist year, and he says now that he's wearing No. 19 people tell him he's like Keyshawn Johnson.

"I think people are just looking at my number," Reese says with a laugh.

Good find Mama...how highly ranked are these guys expected to be?

Rivals already lists ALL of them with four-stars. Godfrey and Gainer are Rivals top 250 players. Reese is a Rivals top 100 player.
