Anyone seen this?? might be the dumbest thing I ever witnessed in my life.  Its on the Universal station, 708 on brighthouse.

http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2008/8/21/olympics/20080821103847&sec=Olympics

The announcer said "She (an olympian) has been doing her best walking all year lately"

how many times will you ever say that in your life?

Cant believe someone gets a gold medal for this!

Race Walking has been in the Olympics for a long time. Those people walk very fast. Now, I might be old school, but what the hell is BMX racing doing in the Olympics? Isn't that why there is The X games?

If race walking has a spot in the olympics, why not BMX... BMX is 100x more athletic than walking.

It's not all about athleticism.  See badmitten and ping pong.

I'd rather see bowling and darts in the olympics than BMX.

Badmitten and ping pong take amazing athleticism... try playing it at a high level... they are both insane games.

Try walking at the pace that Race Walkers do. It's not as easy as it seems. It's like saying, "well anyone can swim, whay is that in the olympics?"

I wasnt making fun of the race walking because i thought it didnt take athletic ability, just the whole idea of race walking was funny.

They "race walk" for over an hour and a half, its just silly.

I remember high school gym class badmitton used to be one of the most competitive activities we did . I used to sit in 6th period english class sweating by nuts off.  Even at a low competition, still a great workout.  i can see it being this way for ping pong too.

AND i saw the BMX event.  pretty cool, saw like 10 sick wipeouts . never knew thet had that either.

It does look silly, but race walking has been an Olympic event since 1932.

The exposure to other events is good, we can’t watch football all the time (can we?).

I watched the Team Handball competition and couldn’t figure out the rules, was surprised that trampoline was an Olympic event.
