it would help big east and usf

why and how ?

it would give usf a better chance to improve faster less competition

the league has major identity problem with different teams for different sports

the big east is looked at as worse bcs conference because of all the different configerations depending on the sport

Do some research on this prestigious conference.  BBall holds this conference by the balls!

not when next bcs football contract rolls around

there will be changes in the league close to what i am saying

How about we keep the catholics, invite more baptists, get a few more jewish, and then recruit some islamic fellows - that will make for better ball play!

The Big East was founded as a Basketball league, that is why Penn State is not apart of it.  All this was on this board last summer.  The best solution for football and basketball would be to drop N.D., DePaul and Marquette and add Memphis giving the league 14 teams.  What you get is a top flight B.B. team and what could be a good football team.

Guest Mr. AKA

Who are the basketball only schools, Marquette and DePaul?  I never liked them as a fit in the league to begin with.  They fit with playing the Midwestern teams such as Notre Dame, Louisville, and Cincinnati but who cares.

Marquette, DePaul, St. John's, Seton Hall, and Providence don't have football

GTown and Villanova do but, I think they are FCS

Make those two step up their programs

Lure Memphis from CUSA

Make Notre Dame join for football (this will never happen because of the NBC deal)

That leaves us one short, the MAC has 13 teams, lure one of their schools to the Big East

Trade out DePaul w/ CUSA and drop Notre Dame

That leaves us with 16 in basketball and 12 in football....

Conference Title game in Fball, two divisions

East and West

East:

UCONN, Cuse, Rutgers, Gtown, Pitt, WVU

West:

USF, Lou, Cincy, Memp, Nova, MAC School

What should it look like?

There will never be 12 teams in the Big East for football

They are not going to be able to poach big progams like the ACC did to the Big East a few years ago.

I realize my idea was a little far fetched

But who else is there to add?
