With USC and UCLA playing at home, the Dodgers and Mets at Dodger Stadium, the Kings in their home opener at Staples Center, and a big race at Santa Anita, imagine the traffic around the Southland. And it will be particularly bad downtown, where a number of other activities are scheduled.

You've gotta get out more...I admit they aren't good, but compared to driving in Boston, Tampa is a piece of cake. At least you get over 50 feet to merge, most the time. Boston and NY you have to merge into 60 mph traffic at 90 degree angles...you are a NY fan, so you probably can relate better to something like the "Saw Mill Parkway" near Ardsley(sp?), not too far north of Manhatten...I was there for a couple junior golf tournaments at Ardsley-on-Hudson and Westchester CC, and was almost killed just trying to get onto that road. Cars going 80, heavy traffic, narror 2 lane roads, and you have a stop sign to merge onto a blind corner.... AYE AYE AYE.
