Captain intangible. If anyone deserves 20 mill a year, he is the guy. He might not put up 40 homers, but he wins more games for NY than Arod does, and isn't it W's that count? You will never see someone win the MVP from a team that doesn't make the playoffs ever again because of the value of winning. 50 homers (see big Papi) on a team that struggles, while is a great accomplishment, just doesn't mean that much as doing everything right at the right time (also see Papi and Jeter and NOT Arod) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A quarter of a billion dollar guaranteed contract and he looks like a minor leaguer in the playoffs. The NY papers will lay into him if and when the yanks lose. i agree this is his last year with the yanks. Maybe a swap to the sox for manny?
