Wasn't really a factor in the outcome of any game last night.  I think to calm everyone's fears, they should just institute the old rules during the last 2 or 3 minutes of each half.

look at the south carolina game last night, 25 seconds to go in the first half, clock started automatically, if it hadn't, carolina could have had 4 chances to score, instead it took them 13 seconds to get ready, and only had time to run 2 plays.  thats where it changes things in the games.  it is going to force coaches to have the guys ready to go automatically, and will have to give them the first play of the drive right when they get off the field.  it takes away time from coaches trying to change stuff during the game.  if they see something not working and want to fix it during the game, they might not be able to.

Out of bounds keeps it stopped.

Except on change of posession.  It appears if you run a punt return out of bounds or the unsuccessful 4th down play goes out of bounds, the clock starts with the play clock.  Also offenses need to be ready to go at all times in case of a turnover -  interception or fumble.
