The BE has the power to bring about a playoff in CF.

1. BCS who has the real power?  PRIDE

with the exception of two conferences SEC and BIG 10 anyone of the others could be replaced (and i know we will have a dropoff and much gnashing of teeth). these two are the only ones that absolutely kill the BCS if one of them leaves.

2. There is now a deep devision (and resentment) within the BCS. MONEY

championship game vs non championship game

BE, PAC 10, Big 10  - have  clearly a better shot at the NC game and also 2nd BCS game

SEC, ACC, Big 12  - chances not as good to get to NC game or 2nd bcs game

( this may be one of the unintended consequences of the money grab by the ACC)

Conclusion: a major fault line is developing in the BCS. Money vs Pride (NC).

Auburn 11-0 (SEC) was left out once already and if this happens frequently esp IF a BE team USF/rutgers earns the spot it may be too much stress on the system ie. the rigged system got had (by lowly BE).

what would happen if (my eanest wish) usf wins BE 11-1 (7-0 BE), WVU 11-1(6-1), UL 10-2 (5-2) only loses come from within BE? usf (can barely put 30K  in our stadium)would get auto bid, wvu should get at large bcs bid (top 5 before loss to us they may drop but should still be top 10) and UL with two heisman candidates, sick scoring numbers, and  beats miami should still be ranked top 15 with a little luck should be BCS eligible.

now imagine this happens 2 or 3 years in a row. will the pride of SEC, big 10 tolerate this?

are SEC and big 10 fading as "super conferences"?

At this time $$$$ is clearly winning, but there is rumblings (ESPN had their fictional playoff scenerios), the talking heads are saying BE has good to great chance of getting 2 BCS games this year.

a playoff (pride) would then start to dominate the landscape and IF there is a proposal the keeps the basic bowl setup AND would bring more $$$$$, there will at lease be serious discussion not just the lip service a playoff system has gotten thus far.

just one man's opinion

be,pac10 and big 10 have an easier shot because they dont have a championship game

the 3 other leagues chose the championship game with all the money it brings

if wv is 11-1 and didnt win  BE they will not be going to a bcs game
