the yankees sign this guy

956-contreras_dejected.JPG

Jose Contreras looked angry and irritated on the Stadium mound last night, but mostly he just looked confused. After all, the Yankees spent the past week saying they had figured out what was wrong with the Cuban righty - they believed he may have been tipping his pitches when Boston bombed him last weekend - but yet here he was, five days later, watching the Red Sox hitters go round and round again.

The Sox ripped Contreras for five runs and five hits last night on their way to a 11-2 pasting of the Bombers - the fourth Yankees loss to the hated Bosox in the past week. "It was just a good old-fashioned (butt)-whipping," Alex Rodriguez said matter-of-factly.

George Steinbrenner was absent from the owner's box last night, but he certainly can't be pleased with the current return on his $185 million investment - particularly since nine million of those dollars will go to Contreras this year.

Best part of yanks signing Contreras is they screwed the red sox to get him.  The sox had booked every room in the hotel that Contreras was staying in when they thought they were going to sign him and george wanted none of that and ordered cashman to get him now, and they did.  Good job Georgie....SUCKER...Bring back the big fat toad!!

Spike looks like a freaking clown.

That being said, nothing pleases me more than watching George eat a big ol' fat slice of humble pie.

By the way, the Sox are now 6-1 against the Yankees this year.  The last time they had such dominance against the Yanks was 1913, when they were the defending World Series champions.

1913 also happens to be babe ruth's rookie year,  Sounds like a curse breaker to me.

Pathetic will be the faces of the yankees when they miss the playoffs this year.
