USF's Howard Injures Knee Again

University of South Florida point guard Chris Howard is expected to miss a second consecutive season after tearing the ACL in his left knee for the second time in nine months.

Howard, who was slated to be the Bulls' starting point guard, suffered the injury last Thursday. He missed all of last season after tearing his ACL on Nov. 8. Howard declined comment Wednesday.

Without Howard and sophomore Collin Dennis, who left the program in May, senior walk-on Chris Capko is the only returning point guard for the Bulls. Last year without Howard, the Bulls finished last in the Big East in assists, assist/turnover ratio and turnover margin.

If he injured it again on the Sun Dome floor that would be like the 8th season ending injury that the new floor has caused.

Sad that this has to happen, he's a tough kid. I knew you couldn't trust the knee, said it several months ago, it's how I had to quit playing football. One innocent injury leads to a lifetime of problems and it sucks.

Best of luck to you Mr. Howard, take a full year off and rest it the WHOLE time maybe you can be read for us in Dec. 2007

I have never seen so much uproar over a guy who hasn't played a minute in 2 years.  Injuries are not Mac's problems.

It is far deeper.

exactly....

why do we always have just one guard....

that is the question that should be asked.

it woudl be one thing if 3 point guards got injuried, but this guy has no depth because he can't keep players around.

i do believe that he has 2 guards coming in this year via recruiting....  so i don't see how this is such a HUGE deal.

We do have two PG coming in this year Princeton Curry & Solomon Bozeman but only one PG with any playing time

Hall said the decision came down to Cincinnati and Oklahoma, and said he valued Cincy over USF because he feels the Bearcats have a better team right now.

"They win more games than South Florida," he said. "I'm not saying USF isn't going to have a good team this season. I think Cincinnati is better right now."

why wasn't a suitable back up signed? Didn't Mac learn from last year? Or can he just not convince players to play at USF? Either way it's his ass that should be on the line.

**** dude, they signed 2 more guards. Jesus Verdejo and Bozeman.

Take a deep breath and chill.
