Andy Reid said kick returner-safety J.R. Reed, trying to regenerate a damaged nerve in the back of his knee, has made "very little improvement. There has been a little, but not much. It's a slow process, if it's going to happen."

I posted on bulleye premium, but Leavitt told a group that his drop foot is not responding and playing days are likely over.  On a positive Jim wants him back at USF to work or coach for the program.

Wish the best for J.R. and would LOVE to have him here.

Maybe J.R. will fill the empty defensive graduate assistant position that is vacant.

There are no assistant coaching positions available at USF.  The NCAA madates the max a school can have at USF is at it's max.  What's worse is I don't know anyone that I would want to cut, particularly on the defensive side to make room.

With that being said Leavitt's increased budget has allowed him to find opportunities and room for other guys.  Ex-Bull Larry Scott is now in-charge of high school 'relations' and Antonucci is the recruiting coordinator.

That's too bad if he can't play anymore...I hope he finds a way to come back from the injury.

JR left millions on the table with a tragic injury, what a shame. I truly hope he is able to recover enough to salvage what could have been a very promising career. Such a trajedy, he's got to be cursing that **** fence every day of his life.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
