spoke with someone relatively high up who would be in a postion to both promote and know how ticket sales are going, and would have a vested interest in doing so.  I asked how many had sold and the answer is "don't know, haven't been following it too closely"

Perhaps this person has other items of concern and isn't involved in the bowl sales?  Just because every last person in athletics isn't getting up to the minute reporting on ticket sales doesn't mean they are too focused on it.  I'm pretty sure they are monitoring very closely...
