Let the blowouts begin. Three Big East teams play this week, and the games they are involved will probably turn ugly on the scoreboard.

Cincinnati, one of the worst teams in the league, heads to South Florida, one of the top teams in the league. The Bulls can win the league by closing out the regular season with three more wins.

A one-win Syracuse team, which ranks among the worst squads in Division I-A, heads to No. 6 Notre Dame, which is fighting for a berth in the BCS. We break down both matchups:

Cincinnati (4-5, 2-3) at South Florida (5-3, 3-1)

Saturday, noon, ET

The Daily Line: South Florida -18

Cincinnati player to watch: The Bearcats defense is built around linebackers Haruki Nakamura and Corey Smith, who make plays all over the field. The duo each have 63 tackles.

South Florida player to watch: Running back Andre Hall may be the nation's most underrated player. He powered the Bulls to a 27-0 win at Syracuse, racking up 222 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries against a defense that is much better than anything the Bearcats will be able to muster.

The inside scoop: The Bulls are headed toward a showdown at West Virginia on Dec. 3 that will probably decide the Big East title. In the meantime, Hall and his teammates must avoid looking past teams like the Bearcats. A mental breakdown is their biggest hurdle. The Bulls are much more talented and experienced and have proven they are one of the league's top teams. The Bearcats are capable of scoring enough points to win this game, but slowing down Hall does not seem possible. Look for a risky game plan from Bearcats coach Mark Dantonio filled with lots of blitzes and man-to-man coverage. Cincinnati will win if … the front seven (with the addition of a safety or two) can slow down Hall in the first half and make quarterback Pat Julmiste beat them. They must win the kicking game as well.

South Florida will win if … it gets the ball in Hall's hands as much as possible and lets the O-line take over.

Notes: This series is tied 1-1 … USF is just one of three teams not to trail at home this year (USC and Virginia are the others) … Cincinnati racked up 577 yards and won the last meeting 45-23 in 2004 … Hall needs just 10 more yards to reach the 1,000 mark

The pick: South Florida 37, Cincinnati 10

Got to love our chances at home this week.  I'm more worried about the away game in Uconn in possibly very cold conditions

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
