Strange... i wonder why Sports Illustrated missed Matsui, is he restricted by any options?

Yes, Ryan is a huge pickup.  i want Billy Wagner, you can have Ryan.  Actually, i'd take both... but i'm not greedy  ;)

not sure....but i remember matsui signed a 3 yr deal....and it has now been 3 yrs....

i think ryan is a better fit for the yanks because he could be groomed to take Mo's place in a few yrs....boy will that be a sad day....

It'll be a happy day for me, but i agree, i do like him as a player... very classy.

I guess they missed Matsui because of that West coast bias ;)

you had to love how he tipped his cap when the sox fans cheered him opening day of 2005.

besides being a great pitcher he doesn't let things bother him.....has he blown some games...yep and they have been big ones 97 vs cleveland, 2001 vs d-backs, 2004 vs the sux. However they would not have won four WS titles without him.

it will be intersting to see how lidge performs in the future.....
