Watching the first part of the VTech WVU game made me realize something. Of the top teams in the BE, we are all good enough to beat up on each other- yet not quite good enough to beat any of the upper echelon teams in the country. WVU is really good and is going to give us real problems- but they seem signifigantly overmatched vs. VTech.

The advantage is that the top 3 BE teams, WVU, UL, and USF, all have really young teams with lots of talented underclassmen.

It'll take time.  Next year will be a much better year for the Big East.  Remember, the top three teams left, while the replacements (us included)have potential, but have never been national title contenders. The teams that rise to the top will be able to recruit and eventual become powers. I say give the BE two years.

I'm not worried ... USF will help this league be strong.

L'ville is on target to be a consistant Top 25.

Pitt will rebound . . .

WVU is in there.

VaTech got to where they are today because of their affiliation with the Big East. This conference is going to be our vehicle to the upper echelon.

The Big East' problem is it lost Miami, VT and BC to the ACC.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
