Will it be a season of goodbyes?

Wisconsin coach Barry Alvarez announced last week that his 16th season will be his last, and it could be the first in a run of key retirements at the end of the 2005 campaign. Alvarez has the fourth-longest tenure at the same school among active head coaches -- behind Joe Paterno (Penn State, 40th year), Bobby Bowden (Florida State, 30th year) and Bill Snyder (Kansas State, 17th year). Others who might vacate big jobs:
