Out on a limb against Wisconsin
Calibull replied to Corey lea's topic in USF South Florida Bulls Athletics
He stole that from Jack Harbaugh tho -
I think he just got comfortable with his guys. He was still feeling the team out and we had some attitude problems. Right after he got the job a local judge blamed him for one of Taggart did. Player was also arrested for ****... I mean he had a lot to not be happy about. The Taggart years saw some sketchy guys get a shot.

Since you clearly missed the game I attached a link to the hight lights for you. If you want to watch the complete game, it's available. They were a defensive team that season. Bridgewater threw for 266 with 2 TDs and and int. Their defense was really good that season so I'm not sure what you're getting at. Bridgewater was good but they were a complete team. His numbers weren't anything ridiculous, just consistent. I think you do some misremembering to justify your dislike for coach Strong. Makes me wonder...

I'm with you... you don't transition option linemen, rbs, wrs, etc into a spread set in a season and think it's going to take. They're starting from scratch with new systems on both sides of the ball and having to make major personnel adjustments. They didn't beat us last season all things being even, now I'm sure we've gotten better on both sides of the ball and anyone who thinks they have changing everything over 1 spring game and will come out of fire is just lying to themselves. They are literally rebuilding and teaching something many of their current roster has never ran.

On campus stadium is on the back burner

My bad... I included that because I'm not sure Tampa would have done the same for USF. Tampa voters that is. -
I'm stuck between 8-4 and 9-3. I for one thing we'll beat Wisconsin, Ga Tech, and BYU... we just always do something to blow conference games and I don't know which, if any, we'll not show up for. I think there be dramatic improvement on both sides of the ball. I think if things break right we could end up winning 11 games. But realistically I think either 8-4 or 9-3. I do think we beat ucf this year too, We have done exceptionally well with transfers and I don't think that will stop, nor should it.

Nobody said the voters were paying for it... they're using taxable revenue bonds to pay for it... and the state will still end up paying significant money. It's how it works out here. -

I for one like our chances. An experienced talented QB with two talented RBs, and a veteran offensive line and TE. I see that and look at St. Felix and McDoom and I can see something happening. I also think the defense will anything resembling last season. Having guys replace McGee and Hoggins that are actually suited for the positions they played. Nothing against either but if you want to know what I mean, look at the Georgia Tech game... just those two... and you'll understand where I'm coming from. I don't think we'll shut down their run completely but we don't actually have to. -

He didn't IPF was on the back burner and that's all that matters right now. -

I can see a bunch of scenarios where we win. I think the offensive speed will give their defense all kinds of problems, especially if they roll out in that 3-4 defense with those undersized DBs this season. A team stepping on the field with a freshman QB making his first start with 4 new offensive lineman and not a lot of defensive speed and someone cannot see a situation where we win. Either your blind or not looking hard. And they had a suspect pass defense last season -

you literally know nothing about football... I'd dare to say you've never played organized sports. yeah... you're definitely a C fan trolling. -

This is what I mean... you don't appear to really know anything about the team. He was a big strong out of shape 18 year old... his weight ballooned after his senior season to 340. That was an actual health issue and coaches commented on his weight last season. I think you're like C fan over here trolling. You dont appear to know about the team. Anyway... I'm done. You're not worth the reply tbo -

Uhm... he was a true freshman land he was a redshirt , college coach worth his bones will see what side of the ball he's better at in their system, especially since he walked on campus at 340 pounds. He was actually good at Oline and Dline in high school... go figure. People are high on the kid because he is good. Temper your enthusiasm? lol... go play at the little boy table and smarten up on the players. -

I care what happens to the kid. I hope he lights it up actually. Best of luck to the kid with the rest of his career. -

Yup... that was last season. Just looking at the spring weights tells you that's from last season. Reaves is up to 253, Pickney is up to 6'3 300, Kegler is up to 290 at 6'2, and Livingstone is up to 275 at 6'4 so the average is/was around 280 in the spring. Also on the inside you have in the rotation Waller who is down to 320 (6'4 320 DT... love it!) and now with Armon Williams ready at 6'3 316... we're in a completely different place this season DLine wise. It's funny because those both Waller and Williams were heavily recruited by Big 10 schools Michigan and Wisconsin. Food for thought. -

Calibull replied to Corey lea's topic in USF South Florida Bulls Athletics
Nbody is trying to figure that out. It is blatantly obvious. We rolled with two true soph DT and very little starting experience on the Dline and we were undersized inside. We had no depth, our rotation on the inside of the line consisted of Primarily soph and true freshman, we had to move our best pass rushing DE to MLB and substituted him with a guy that underperformed their entire career at USF (Vincent Jackson), the other LB alongside our DE was 5'11 195 at best and couldn't defend the inside run (McGee), we relied on true freshmen at LB who weren't ready because we literally had no quality depth... Hoggins was undersized at the Nickle, and our senior safety (J Thomas) was terrible at run support and had to be replaced with another freshman (Davis)... I mean everyone knows why. We're not in that position this year. People are acting like this will be the same defense as last season don't know much about football. I mean there were glaring issues last season on defense. -

Ground breaking target for IPF - April 2020
Calibull replied to Rizman's topic in USF South Florida Bulls Athletics
Nothing elusive about it... Riz has been consistent over the years with inside information that always ends up panning out. He's one of the few who I know has actual inside information so while some may not appreciate the input, I certainly do. Riz has an excellent reputation and is an pretty cool dude. I trust him and his word. Until I see differently, he has been a pretty reliable source over the years. Period. So not sure why people are suddenly questioning it now. He never starts threads unless there is something to it.
