I wouldn't compare Tennessee state to WKU.... While we're talking, WKU beat us in a Bowl game... while we're taking about "inferior conferences and teams"... Funny, they've won a conference championship before. So they've beaten us in a Bowl with Flowers at QB, Marlon Mack at RB, Rodney Adams and MVS at WR, they've won a conference championship, and had two straight QBs drafted. Battle transferred to a FCS school and he may or may not start. What happens if he doesn't? lol

This is his second season at Dallas. Mike White was a good college QB and he's an very average pro... which is still an amazing college player. When we have a QB put up back to back 4K seasons talk to me.

Hell no he never developed Q... Flowers was the same QB he was in high school. He never had a guy coach him up... it's why he missed so many short passes. Flowers was just an amazing football players who could make plays with his legs. He wasn't reading coverages and changing plays. He improvised. Willie didn't do crap to develop Flowers. Flowers developed Willie... I actually think Willie should give him money. He saved his job and career. He keeps his path and Tice and Johnson don't intervene, he'd be an assistant at Michigan

How many NFL qbs USF have right now? Just curious. If a guy has the talent to make it to the NFL and make the team, even as a backup... he's good. Period.

We started White when he was 6'4 180 pound pole. He's not that guy anymore. He was a guy who needed a redshirt. He ended up being 6'4 222 and didn't miss a game WKU. He doesn't fold under pressure, he was just in over his head with Taggart at USF. He wasn't the problem, the problem was our offensive line was atrocious. What pressure did he fold under? I mean he wont the SMU game with the two late TD heroics after Flowers failed to guid the offense to a TD. He wont the Tulsa game with a last second bomb to Dre... I wouldn't say the kid folded. maybe you're confusing him with Bench.

Nope... Taggart burned his redshirt and he started the Houston game. He threw for like 300 yards in his first game against Houston and the kid almost got ucf that year in Orlando. He didn't redshirt until he transferred to WKU. White threw for over 4k in both years at WKU. He finished college with over 11k yards passing with 74TDs. Willie didn''t know how to develop a QB and it showed with both White and Flowers. He's literally the backup, he was last season at Dallas and is one play away from being a starter. That kid got to WKU and balled outrageous. He is a legit pro QB, I can't hate on the kid. He ended up being really good.

Hey... we had Floyd, Eveld, Bench, and White that season. Mike White plays for the Dallas Cowboys. Some of that losing was Taggart's system and inability to manage in game. the rest was because we sucked

If we're being completely honest, 90% of the teams in the country don't have 3 viable qbs one time.

I know right... he never walked through the door saying he would slow down the offense. They got all that from him saying there may be times when he may need the offense to slow down and take time off the clock. From that everyone's imagination ran wild.

I'm not saying any of this can happen, so for those who don't think it can, I'm just making a point... but if we run the table we'd have a stronger case than ucif of getting in the playoffs. It would be glorious if once again we beat them to a big show. All of that... and we get the nod. It would be epic and their fans couldn't live that one down.

I'd like to give Harlan credit, but honestly I think it was D'Ernest Johnson and Darius Tice that made Willie see the light. They were the ones who convinced him to abandon the West Coast offense and go to more shotgun and letting Q improvise. That was after the Memphis game when in a loss, Q actually looked like he was ready to be unleashed. The Gulf Coast was designed to take advantage of Flowers skills, I think he'll be hard press to find another QB as proficient in that system as Q because it was literally designed for him. I'm with you though on Harlan being weak... I was all about Harlan having known him from his time at UCLA, but man, we did not get the guy I thought we'd get. Kelly has shown me what to expect. A good AD can drive a program.

Willie has wanted out of every job he's had until he got to FSU. I don't feel bad how he left us, I think things worked out the best for us. I think how he left Oregon was an indication it was never anything personal with Willie...it's always been 'Willie first'... I really am betting Strong is our long term solution though. I hope he is "Our Guy"... I don't want a revolving door of head coaches.

I'll go on record... I would really like to win a conference championship. People say "it's not important, it's just the AAC"... fudge that! We've never actually won one in any conference. And to those who don't think winning one would help our national profile, well it did for UCF, Temple, Memphis, and Houston. I don't care if we drop an out of conference game, win the conference championship and then I'll feel like the program is moving forward. Easy to say something isn't important when you've never had it. I think this team is as loaded as the 11-2 team (that was just a competent DC away from possibly being the one). We have a solid QB and a good OC. We're returning some defensive depth and experience. All of the type of guys needed to run the defense are here. My official prediction is 9-3... but I wouldn't be surprised if this team won 11 or 12 games. 10-3 with bowl
